Cunard Independence Day Sale

Got an email yesterday that there will be an “Independence Day Sale” starting next week.  Believe it or not, we’re looking to book yet another cruise, despite having yet to sail on our first one.  Question: Are these sales usually worth waiting for?  We see something we like and I’m wondering if it’s worth waiting till next week.

Onboard Credit. Up to $600 Onboard Credit per stateroom offer ($300 per person) is based on reserving a Queens Grill Suite on a voyage of 21 nights or longer. Onboard Credit offer applies to all voyages and does not apply to third/fourth berth guests. Onboard Credit amounts may vary by voyage length and category booked (please reference the chart below for specific amounts). Guests in single occupancy staterooms or guests paying a single occupancy supplement will receive the per-person OBC amount. Onboard Credit may be used on a single cruise only, is not redeemable for cash, cannot be used for the casino, and expires at the end of that cruise. Offer is not transferable and may not be combinable with other select offers or other onboard credits. Onboard Credit amount is quoted in U.S. dollars. Offer is applicable to reservations deposited by July 10, 2024. Promotion code RDA

Thanks, MCC retired.  You have more information than I got.  That’s a lot about OBC, but will the fares be lower than they are now? I have my eye on a cruise but to stay in my financial comfort level I’d need to book an inside cabin, or an ocean view, but far aft or forward.  I’d prefer midship.

Aw, come on, Cunard. Singles pay for the whole cabin, give us the OBC for the whole cabin! (Or pro-rate it for the Britannia cabins where we pay "only" 75-85%)

Maybe I'll hold out for the better deals on Cunard's Dominion Day sale... which seems befitting given the origins of the company, no?

Then again, did not R.M.S. BRITANNIA first sail from Liverpool on 4 July 1840?  But I know we are not supposed to talk about Cunard history and "heritage trail" anymore in the era of QUEEN ANNE so we'll stick to the "deals" her extra capacity have elicited. I think the "Sail Soon" offers have far more prospect anyway...

Available today for CWC members.

Nothing great , did much better booking our 10Oct25 QM2  using the  American Sale weeks ago.

I just booked QE to the Caribbean 2026 and saved almost 20% off the Cunard fare. (launch fare)

Unfortunately the voyage I have my eye on is still more expensive than it was when I first saw it… and took too long to think about it.  I’m hoping there’ll be another sale and hopefully it’ll be back to the price I would pay (like during the Memorial Day sale.). If not, I have plenty of voyages booked over the next three years.

Thanks Foodsvcmgr.  I’m noticing that the Sailing Soon voyages can be really good deals.  I’m keeping my eye on that cruise and my fingers crossed.

My QA cruise was a "sailing soon" and a good price. But last-minute airfare can cut into those savings. I really need to stop opening those emails from Cunard...

So true.  I guess I need to get a job with the airlines and fly for free 😄
