Ha!  That was clever.  I bet your spell check was in overdrive for this posting!

Every 2-3 years the highway maintenance people trim back the roadside growth so people can see moose and not be surprised. Moose love the greens that are near the road that get salt on them in the winter.

Yes. Many times. It is a shoreside problem and is a known glitch. There is a reason which I’ll explain later.

Oh, sorry it's not something that's easily fixable 😔 I do love your attitude, though - can tell you're a teacher and can "go with the flow!"

When we set out for our next stop I realized I had forgotten to eat lunch. Fortunately the local church hosted us for sandwiches and treats (included in the cost of the shore excursion.) The reverend served me.

Again, I set out to explore

As always, I found the local library and school.

This was a fascinating mill! The smoke you see is steam, not pollution and according to our tour guide this mill has won numerous environmental stewardship awards for their techniques and methods.

yeah, my summer college jobs, and shutdowns during the year were working for contractors in a paper mill.  General contractors, electricians, insulators.  I busted my ass, but also got requested to come back and work the shutdowns because I could do the cleanup, firewatch,  and then the payroll paperwork - sometimes I was the only one or two working the 7p to 7a shift - so I was an assistant foreman!  Night shift, holiday pay - paid for a lot of college, believe me

Welcome to Princess!  I'm thoroughly enjoying your "Live from...", writing style, and glad that you are having a good experience so far.

While the Island Princess isn't our favorite Princess ship, we still like her enough to have spent 111 days on the World Cruise in 2023, and we've already booked another 102 days for the 2025 World Cruise on her.  The thing we miss is, as others have mentioned, there is no International Cafe; however, hope springs eternal that whilst she is in dry dock at the Fincantieri Shipyard in September corporate will have finally gotten tired of all our whining and begging and put one in as they did on her sister ship the Coral Princess.

Happy sailing.

Oh wow! You are an expert on the Island Princess! Anything I shouldn’t miss?

Now I’m at Good Spirits, doing my very important research. At the moment I am researching the Mango Margarita.

I have to use two hands to pick up the glass so I am getting in some bicep curls during happy hour.

I haven't received a cruise log for several voyages.  I think it was discontinued post pandemic.  Too Bad, that was a great take away.

I miss the Cruise Logs!!

I am dining in Bordeaux tonight. One of my biggest annoyances in restaurants is tables that are too close together. I’m so close to the guy next to me I could reach out and share his  bread basket.

He keeps brushing the breadcrumbs off the tablecloth and is doing so quite vigorously. I have sandals on and the bread crumbs are landing on my toes.

I don’t know the protocol for breadcrumbs on toes!!

Help!

I’m sure you’ve already asked, but perhaps they can put you at a table for one that’s really meant to have four people at it and then you wouldn’t be that close to others.

If I was at the table and that was happening, I’d ask him to pass his bread basket and butter over to your table and play keep away. That would keep him from putting crumbs on your toes.
