Rare YVRteacher Posted July 27 Author #1404 Share Posted July 27 People enjoy having their photos taken with the captain’s champagne waterfall on formal night. I, on the other hand, enjoyed watching the construction of the champagne tower. It was like Giant Jenga but with consequences. 10

Rare ceilidh1 Posted July 27 #1407 Share Posted July 27 It sounds like your princess experience in two ships has been what mine was over 18 years. I loved princess. The ships. The staff. The service, the food. The activities. Everything about Princess was top of their game. Until it wasn’t. Little by little, all the stellar experiences got eroded or cut. Until one day I realized that I was more stressed with trying to make myself happy and trying to justify the poor service than I was relaxed. That’s not how I wish to spend my vacation or my cruise $$$$ so that’s when I started trying other lines. None have been perfect (virgin are close to perfect for me) but all have made me realize that it’s not unique to princess, that there are other options out there, and loyalty really means nothing these days. Now I look for price and itinerary first. Line and ship second. I’m glad you got to see what princess can and very much used to be like while on island. I still get glimpses of that on the bigger ships occasionally so you may just find it on regal too!!!!

Rare YVRteacher Posted July 27 Author #1409 Share Posted July 27 I’m currently sipping a pineapple mimosa and I didn’t even need to knock down the champagne glasses! 1
dog Posted July 27 #1410 Share Posted July 27 Rather sad. Several of my fb friends are on this cruise and having a wonderful time so far. You were not treated well by cabin steward, bar staff right off, casino stench & loud music, long line ups etc. Not what we expect on a vacation. Let’s hope you are feeling better for the remainder of your trip.

Everyone knows the moon is made of green cheese. Looks like Princess spares no expense in importing cheese from outer space to keep its customers happy. 1

treesah Posted July 27 #1414 Share Posted July 27 We're booked on the Regal Transatlantic in October. Girl, you're scaring me. One or two grumpy crew members I can handle, but if it's more.....
Rare YVRteacher Posted July 27 Author #1415 Share Posted July 27 Remember the comedian I loved last week on the Island? The one I sat with at the bar a couple days later? He is on this cruise for one night and has three shows. I will be at all of them! The 6:30pm show was tear-inducing hilarious! You can find Ken on all social media platforms using The Ken Boyd Show. He never does the same show twice and he never repeats his outfits. Too bad I did not get the message that we were supposed to pack our fascinators. 2

Rare YVRteacher Posted July 27 Author #1418 Share Posted July 27 Let me tell you about the cabin. It really, really stank. It was vile. So many gross smells. After they neutralized the general cabin there was a strong smell of urine from the bathroom. At first I thought the bathroom floor was stained but when I used my own Lysol Wipes and realized how much was coming up I knew the floor hadn’t been cleaned in a long, long time. I reported this on the form to guest services and I spoke to the room steward. When I went to the cabin for a quick moment after dinner to grab a duck (as one does) I saw the whole cabin had been properly cleaned and the bathroom floor was gleaming and spotless. The housekeeping supervisor phoned to follow up and asked if the smell was gone. I told him it didn’t smell bad anymore and I also said it was unacceptable for me to come into a cabin this dirty. He apologized. Two minutes later I saw the room steward in the hall. He asked if things were better. I said yes and thanked him. Then he said “by the way ma’am the stuff on the floor was grout.” I said “that was not grout and don’t you dare tell me it was.” Then I walked away. He has access to my toothbrush… I could have accepted the dirtiness, gross as it was, but lying is never ok. 13

I told our steward, who cleaned it repeatedly. It was then better, but never went away completely. I suspect the odor was coming from the drains.
