Speciality restaurant using OBC

Recommended Posts

Booked two speciality restaurants for upcoming Sept. cruise. No option given for using my OBC. My credit card on file was charged. When onboard can I get the charges reversed and use the OBC? Thank you so much.

On Princess, pre cruise, OBC can only be used to book shore excursions.

If you need help in ‘getting back’ your OBC in cash, see other threads, hint Casino.

Princess OBC can be used towards daily gratuities, unlike some other cruise lines.

Did you have either the Plus or Premier package?

To directly answer your specific question...no, they will not refund your credit card. Think of it this way: you go to the store in July and make a purchase. In August you go back to the store and ask if you can revoke that purchase but pay for it with cash. Same principle...they just won't do it.

Yes, we have the plus package. Thank you so much for the informative answers.

Plus doesn't include specialty dining.

Princess doesn't allow OBC to be used in advance for anything except Excursions.

If you book and pay in advance, you can have the charge refunded aboard - and it'll be refunded as OBC, not back to original form of payment.

Thus, leaving you with more OBC, lol.. it is refundable OBC, so any unused it returned to you via check 2-12 weeks after the cruise (under $25, you can get at guest services). you can always "use" it at the casino and cash out also .

Happy sails .

I think the answer is who knows. But your plus cruise fare includes two casual dining meals/ per person per voyage and not specialty ,so why would they refund your money if you’re going to go eat at two specialty restaurants?
Just use your onboard credit for something else ,probably be a lot easier. The onboard credit that you already have -I would check your itinerary and see if it’s refundable or not. A lot of the onboard credit is not refundable. Or check when you get onboard and see what type you have. But obviously spending it ,that is what it is for.
