I called Saturday and tried to add it to a cruise in November and HAL said I would lose my $600 deposit as it was nonrefundable.

They wouldn't add it for me either. My travel agent called a second  time and that agent told her it was only for new bookings which is not true

I just refared mine. 3ppl 4 day Pacific coastal:

Originally booking:

$1439 CAD (refundable) with Obstructive VH,

100OBC, Healthcare worker OBC.

Refared booking:

$1732 CAD (still refundable), upgrade to VH extended balcony.

keep Healthcare worker OBC,

AARP OBC,

and crew appreciation

You were able to add the AARP OBC just by refaring??  This would be awesome news for me!

In my case they would not refare.  TA called Sunday and was told new bookings only, but they could rebook me (final payment is mid August). TA called back today for a pricing specialist - same story, they would not budge.

In my case I have one of the two family cabanas in the Retreat booked, tied to my original booking #. If I rebook, that's automatically canceled. I wasn't going to risk losing it, so I'll skip the $187 in crew incentive I would have picked up (solo traveler, 11 nights).

I am not sure if it is considered refare or rebook. I have refundable fare. I told my TA I want my AARP OBC. If it means I have to cancel and rebook, please do so. I am upgrading my original cabins anyway. I don’t care the originally OBC as I get a better deal with crew appreciation.

fyi, the crew appreciation only include the first two guests.

We asked our TA to see what we would have to do to get the crew appreciation added to our existing January Caribbean cruise that is on the Sunshine promo. She had to rebook as the crew appreciation couldn't just be added.  However, we were able to keep same cabin, received more OBC, refundable deposit was moved over to new booking,  and only lost early dining confirmation but are waitlisted again for that.  Our TA did a great job.  It never hurts to ask.

I emailed our PCC and asked if there was anything she could do.

We are on the 53 day Majestic Japan Cruise. I had already prepaid the crew appreciation.

We lost all but $100 OBC, but got refunded $2034 for crew appreciation. Still made $1550.

Well...yes and no. I just did a dummy booking of our January sailing under this promotion. Our current rate without crew appreciation is over 1K less than the same category under this new promotion. A bit of lure and bait . which  happens so often in any business sale. But that said, I will as my TA to look into just adding the CA.

I did a dummy booking as well,on a cruise we have booked, for comparison. Our original is still better with elite beverage, better Wi-Fi, and crew appreciation. It’s always fun to look at though!

If you canceled your cruise and then booked again, it would be a "new" booking.  My cruise is a non-refundable deposit.  I am not even going to try. 🤕

I'm afraid we'd lose the cabin we picked & possibly CO.
