SI Cruiser Posted July 22 #2 Share Posted July 22 There are no assigned times. Edge class is My Time for all.
Rare Scottishclover Posted July 22 #3 Share Posted July 22 We are just off the Apex. We had early assigned at 5.30pm. I was expecting early to be 6pm and in truth we arrived nearer 6pm most nights. We could have gone to any restaurant at anytime if we had wanted. We stuck to our assigned table due to dietary restrictions and breezed by the queues each night of those people on anytime. There is a 2 line system - one for assigned and one for anytime. This is different from our last 2 Edge class cruises.

Our experience is that there is Anytime Dining on the Edge Class ships. You just show up when you want to one of the dining room. However, if you want a particular dining room with a certain wait staff, you can request and it is usually granted. Lines are minimal.

All but our 1st E class sailing had been all anytime dining. But our last 2 sailings Traditional set time dining was back for those who booked it. On the Beyond, we were NOT allowed to order items from the MDR in Blu. However, it was not a problem on the Ascent. Same galley locations on each ship. It could be due to staffing numbers. scottygirl Posted July 22 #7 Share Posted July 22 We are a group of 8 on the Ascent in October. 2 couples have anytime and 2 have early seating. We would all like to eat together for most nights. Any suggestions? Already tried to switch to anytime and was told no spots were available. The two couples with anytime are reluctant to switch to early seating. The E class dining seems to be all over the board, I'm not sure what to expect.
jelayne Posted July 22 #8 Share Posted July 22 If you all show up at the same time they will seat your together. Whether it is considered anytime or early.

We were actually accused of trying to cut the line, with one woman blocking the entrance with her husband, while the staff was waving people in who had reservations around the check in station. It’s amazing that Celebrity can’t or won’t explain that are two dining options on E class ships - either a set time (and you can really get any set time you want by going to the hostess stand at any of the four main restaurants) or anytime dining. They also won’t state anywhere that you can order the specialty dishes from any of four main dinning rooms so from a menu perspective it does not matter in which of the four you dine in. A clear explanation by Celebrity would eliminate these same questions being asked continually. 1
