Ellis1138 Posted August 13 #77 Share Posted August 13 In the Encore casino, how is the tobacco smoke situation? The Escape had the 2 areas, but no solid divider, so the smoke did travel to the nonsmoking section.

No smoke in the main casino.
Rare BirdTravels Posted August 13 Author #79 Share Posted August 13 It is a beautiful morning and there has been a lot of whale activity around the ship today. Fun!
Rare BirdTravels Posted August 13 Author #80 Share Posted August 13 The Observation Lounge [currently] spans 1/3 of Deck 15 proving floor to ceiling panoramic forward-facing views of Alaska. The ship was purpose built for Alaska and this was one of the main features. The OL buffet serves a light breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks. At night, there is live entertainment. 3

Rare BirdTravels Posted August 13 Author #83 Share Posted August 13 One of the best services provided. Y the Port of Seattle is Port Valet. Leave your bags outside on the last night and they are automatically transferred to the airport and checked in with your airline. The next time you have to deal with them is at your home airport. We use the service every year.

Tables for games or reading. All gazing out at Alaska’s beauty. Great photos! Our last cruise was an MSC an no track, seeing this one makes me so happy

Does Encore have the overhead heaters on the Waterfront? If so, how good are they? Is it comfortable enough to enjoy supper outside on a calm evening? (I’m sure even the heaters aren’t much help if it’s very windy.)

Rare BirdTravels Posted August 13 Author #92 Share Posted August 13 As we arrive in Juneau, our sister, the Bliss, is still parked at the AJ dock. Soon, the Bliss leaves heading to her date with the Dawes glacier. Shuttle buses to town leave from the white tent. There will be looooonnnngg lines to get on the shuttles. The Shuttles drop off and pick up from the base of the Goldbelt Tramway. It is a little over a mile walk (all up hill both ways) if you want to walk it.
Rare BirdTravels Posted August 13 Author #93 Share Posted August 13 O.K., kinda embarrassing, but the only thing that we’re provisioning in Juneau is more beer. You can tell what the demographic of this cruise is 😃 1

They do have overhead heaters on the Waterfront and I always found it quite comfortable with the appropriate layers. That being said, I did not see a single person dining outside for the duration of the cruise. They never had the outdoor tables set.

The lounge currently runs from the bow to the forward elevator lobby. A long, large space. After the dry dock, the OL will end at the wall in the photo below with a door to the hallway leaving to cabins. The photo is the a very front seating section on the port side of the OL. We were just on the Joy and that is how the post dry dock OL is configured.
