Smoked Old Fashioned at the Ocean Bar

Hey @POA1, when I saw them making this, I thought of you!  I was on the Rotterdam the first week of July and saw this.  Sure beat my coffee martini!

I've had a few "smoked old fashions" at the Ocean Bar, and can attest to their awesomeness.

I also highly recommend the smoke infused old fashions.  

 

I think I was charged an extra $5 for these premium drinks, but so worth the extra $.

Always fun to watch the bartender work with the smoker.  While on the Westerdam, we noticed that there was a smoke/fire detector right above the Ocean Bar.  I asked a bartender if they ever set-off the alarm.  He told me that when they first started using the smoker, they would sometimes trigger an alarm (which goes to the Bridge).  He said that "adjustments had been made" so it was no longer an issue.

Has anyone noticed “Strange Brew” being offered anymore at the Ocean Bar? I had one on my Koningsdam cruise in 2022… hoping it’s still available on my cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam next March!!

Is it available on Koningsdam? My friends husband has a smoker and that's the only way I'll drink an old fashioned now.
