Okay, people. The end of Day Two in Rome is here and I’m exhausted. We revisited some sights we saw yesterday, ie Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain and then worked our way to the Roman Forum, where we were booked in a tour through Trip advisor for “Colosseum Arena Floor, Roman Forum and Palestine Hill”. It was a fantastic guided tour and our guide Maria was the bomb. So much great info. Personally, I love a good tour. We finished up by having cocktails play our rooftop bar and then dinner at the same place as last night. It’s so good, we didn’t feel the need to venture further afield.

Pictures to follow …

Thanks for hanging in there … here are a few pictures of today’s events. I must admit that I forgot to take breakfast pictures, but I’ll no doubt have the same thing tomorrow, so never fear!

Did you know that you can drink from all fountains in Rome and that there are many water faucets located through the city? It is very cold and absolutely delicious and refreshing. Here I am refilling my water bottle at the Fontana della Barcaccia at the base of the Spanish Steps.

We made our way to the Trevi Fountain again. Hundreds of other tourists had the same idea, and I can see why. It is stunning!

Loving all the information and the pictures.  Wow, the view from your room is stunning.  I would love it for the people watching alone.  Thank you so much for sharing your trip and have a wonderful cruise and rest of your stay in Rome.

Thank you! The people watching has been amazing. We were entertained at dinner watching a mime following people around.

After the Trevi Fountain, we made a quick stop for some refreshments (a Bellini for me) and a light lunch (pizza) before meeting up with our tour of the Roman Forum, Palentine Hill and the Colosseum floor. This was a fantastic tour.

@CruzerDebThanks again.  Your pictures are bringing back wonderful memories of when my late husband and I visited Rome, many years ago.  We did the tourist thing and threw those coins over our shoulders into the Trevi Fountain hoping to return but alas, never did.

Hi Deb, photo 2. If you walk down that street and look to your right, you will see a old looking restaurant with green/blue barrels outside.

That restaurant has been in the same family for generations, the walls are decorated by old artists that use to paint to eat. The food is out of this world better than any restaurant on the ship, the locals told us about it over 20 years ago…

I’ll try to check that out! Thanks for the recommendation.

Hello from our last day in Rome, or is it penultimate as we will board the ship tomorrow?

We had a wonderful breakfast at our hotel before heading out on our Skip-the-Line tour of the Vatican, St. Peter’s Basilica and Sistine Chapel.

Skip-the line tour of Vatican, St. Peter’s Basilla and Sistine Chapel was amazing!! So much great info and history. You are not allowed to take pictures in the Sistine Chapel, but here are a few from the other venues:

Cruise Day 1 - Civitavecchia

We arranged private transportation thru Rome in Limo to bring us to the part; arrived at 10:30 and we were on board by 11:00. Quick and easy.

We’ve wondered around a bit and I took a few random pictures with no real goal in mind, and made no real note of what was where. Pretty useless for your purposes, I guess, but I might as well post a few anyway.
