EZ Check Delta Airlines Question

We plan to use EZ Check on our cruise ending in Fort Lauderdale flying home on Delta.

Question, we have Delta Skymiles.  Can we use our miles to pay for the $35 baggage fee.  If so, how do we do it?  The Delta rep had no clue. Thanks

Sign into your delta account

Dont do it through ez air

Just do it through Delta

You should have a Delta flight sign in for that flight from ezair

Once ez air makes the res you can pay for luggage

Not EZ Air, EZ Check luggage transfer

EZCheck is a service where you disembark the ship without your checked luggage and they appear at your destination airport’s baggage carousel.  A company is contracted to take them to FLL drop them off at the appropriate airline.

EZ Check will work if you have a free bag entitlement based on airline status or class of service, but will not work to use the mileage-redemptive payment for bags.

Not disputing what you're saying...but how would you go about this process when you are charged by Princess as the "middleman" in the process?  How is Princess going to know anything about your particular airline loyalty status?

When we have utilized EZ check out of Fll and Sea we have not paid for bags due to utilizing an Alaska airlines credit card.   From memory there is a line item on the request form for taking advantage of EZcheck where it asks for frequent flyer account which in my instance ties back to the credit card.

IIRC, the fee for EZ Check (it was $25/bag in February) is separate from any airline bag fee. We get free bags with our Delta Amex, but I think if you have a bag fee it gets charged with the EZ check fee.

The company that actually runs the backend passes on  the bag fee messages  that are returned when they prepare the airline bag tags.  So if you have status or class of service free bags, they just see “0.00”.  The itinerary information + number of checked bags returns the amount to collect.

Among other reasons, it’s why only domestic flights are supported.  International flight rules when there may be multiple marketing or operating carriers, let alone codeshares, cause enough errors that require agent intervention that the juice just isn’t worth the squeeze to know how to handle all the exceptions.
