Butler kept on pouring and we kept on consuming.

Times had chanced .  I hunted down a Butler, gave him my empty glass and he did not even bother to ask me if I wanted a refill.  Just took my glass and walked away.

I was not impressed with boarding today.  Nor the process in the YC check in.  When we entered we were asked to take a seat so we did.  Others ahead of us and some behind were were also asked to take a seat.  Then other that came in after the seats were filled were allowed to go to the counter and check in.  At one point I saw a break in the line at the check in counter and went to approach the counter was again asked to take a seat.  Eventually us and the group that entered with us were allowed to check in and given our wrist bands.  I don’t think there was any rhyme or reason to the order people were seen and allowed to check in.  Eventually a large group of us where escorted up to where we presented our room cards to ‘ding’ onto the ship.  It was a little confused there as they were still processing a very large group of back to back passengers, though not yacht club so the Butler had them close one line of four and start letting the YC passengers through.

From that point we went to the elevators, escorted now by two butlers and proceeded to our muster stations.  From there we were escorted to the Top Sail Lounge.

We hung out in the TSL until our room was ready and went put away and organized our carry on luggage and just hung out until lunch time.

When we returned to our room after lunch our bags were at our door so while I got out grandsons football game on my iPad, my DW started unpacking and organizing our clothes.   All our clothes were put away on hangers or stored in drawers before we sailed away.

We are not underway headed for Jamaica our first port of call on Monday.

What exactly is a Tournedos?  Looks like a petit filet?

Pretty much.  Comes from the same tenderloin that filet comes from.  However, it is considered a different cut than filet.  But it is a nice lean piece of beef.

I guess this is just another of MSC lands being consistently inconsistent.  Once onboard they do a fantastic job.  Have a great cruise.

Are you talking about daylight savings time?  If so, an internet search shows that it ends at 2 AM  on November 3.

Well, while waiting to disembark the ship this morning our butler, who graciously walked us to the front of the line, knew how much we love this itinerary this past week ONLY because we did not have to alter the clocks back and forward screwing with our circadian clocks. He said to us they will be setting the ship's clock back tonight and we can appreciate not staying aboard.

This scenario is unacceptable!  I think I might have been a little less gracious after being told to take a seat a second time.

Question:  do all YC guests have the same muster station or did you have to stop at various places?

That's too bad. It was only the two of us and one other guest when we walked in. There were three port people there last week so one of them watched while our party of two were checked in by one and the other guest was checked in by another.

Really, to be honest, when we first switched from the larger terminal to this smaller terminal with the smaller check in room and upstairs holding area without the nice cushion sofas that we had, and no entertainment, we were deflated. Your complaint is WELL FOUNDED. That is why all the hullabaloo and daily posts about the new MSC terminal and when it will open.

Exactly correct. Tonight we lose an hour.

Why ?  Jamaica is 1 hour behind Florida.

Florida is currently on EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) and Jamaica is on EST (Eastern Standard Time). While we refer the time in Florida on a daily basis to EST .. it’s technically EDT.

When you turn the clock back tonight by 1 hour .. you gain 1 hour.

I could not agree more.  All in all, an hour from the hotel to the TSL is a win in my book, especially having to wait for security to open for about 1/2 hour.

No there are two muster stations for YC - C and D both on the same deck.  When we got off the elevator, C was to the right, D (ours) was to the left - 10 steps, scan the card, turn around, 10 steps back to the elevator where a Butler was waiting.

Dani the YC director even rode up with us in our elevator.  Counting him there were 8 of us .. six guest, a butler and Dani.

I blame it on our showing up before 1100.  We had like 25 -30 plus YC guest that where in the terminal when we showed up a little after 1000.

We did not go through this on Divina. We walked it, walked right up to the desk after waiting for one couple who were in front of us.  Easy peasy.

More drinking time for us.  Of course we give it back on our next sea day when we go from Cozumel to Ocean Cay.

Next week  no time changes.

Bon Voyage, John.  When I go to bed tonight, I will try to console myself that I will not lose an hour like you will.

Thank you sir.  Look at it this way — I can stay up an hour later since midnight will really be only 11 pm.

The programs are not out yet. The crew is walking around saying that we lose an hour tonight. Once the program is released, I guess we'll know if the crew is wrong. 🙂

The crew is correct.  There is even a sign at the Concierge’s desk indicating the time change.  That means an extra hour in the TSL tonight.

How did you like the Divina?  We are on the Divina YC for 14 days in March. We have cruised Celebrity for the last 10 years.  Thank you

I quite liked Divina and did a live review, the link for which is in my signature.

I compared a number of things between theYC on Divina and the Retreat on Celebrity.  All in all, in my opinion the YC wins out.  Both have their strong points for bang for the dollar, it’s YC in my opinion.

Tonight dinner in the YC restaurant was very good.

My DW and I split the dumplings, which is more asking to gyoza than Dim Sum in my opinion.  Both had the Nordic Salad.  She had a Moscato with her salad and I had a glass of champagne (contribution to BCD’s building supplies)

For our mains, my wife order the grilled chicken and I had the prime rib.  I paired the Oberon with my prime rib.

For dessert we both had the tiramisu (apologies for eating the white and dark chocolate garnish before taking the picture.  We also had an americano (mine with Bailey’s) to go with our dessert.

We then decided to take a walk about the ship and unlike our experience on Divina, it was not overly crowded and we encountered no bottle necks with people blocking the entire passage ways.

All it all it was a very enjoyable embarkation day.

I think now I am going to the TSL to listen to some music and have a night cap. Maybe I’ll run into @Best Cat Mom and BCD.

Looks like a lovely day!

Next month, DH and I will be in central Florida for work and somehow today we found ourselves extending our time away by booking a quick 3 NT on Seashore in YC.  We will consider it an appetizer of sorts to our February YC cruise on the same ship.

I blame the constant ‘live from’ YC posts 😜

No MSC does not participate in any Luggage valet program that I am aware of.  If I find out differently I will post here.
