Tonight’s dinner was once again excellent.  We have a great waiter, Suzette, and assistant waiter, Archie, for our evening meals.

My DW started with the French Style Salad that we both had list week.  Again, she choose ranch instead of the French.

I went with the Seafood salad, which neither of us had last week

For her main course my DW wanted chicken so she order the grilled chicken, and our waitress once again made sure she received her rice.

I went with the Ligurian Cioppino that I really enjoyed last week.

And just to make sure my wife got the chicken she wanted, we ordered the Chicken Kiev as a dish to share (we both liked it too).

Rodin brought me a nice Beaujolais .. it paired well with the seafood.

I have really enjoyed the wine service on MSC on both our Divinia and this B2B ..

For dessert we both went with the rum cake we enjoyed so much last week.  The Coconut Ice Cream really makes the dish, as does the rum flavor in the cake.

I think it’s time to head to the TSL for an old fashioned or few. @Best Cat Mom needs a side car! Lol…

Cheers

BTW - don’t tell @Best Cat Mom but I had a Sidecar last night that was not as heavy with lime as the last we shared together.  I’ll try another one after my 2nd Zacapa New Fashioned.

Did she get her gold tie?? We told her as we were leaving Saturday that we looked forward to seeing her again soon but with a gold tie. She was moved up from host to black tie on our two Divina cruises last year.

No.  She mentioned tonight she had expected it last cruise but something happened and I am not sure what.  She’s much better than the Gold tie we had at lunch today.  She’s filling the position of a gold tie without being allowed to wear one!

Have you tried one at the Cocktail Bar yet? Go after dinner and see if you don't love Frederick's as much as I did.

We got off the ship for a short shopping trip and came back on.

The line for security was backed up all the way to the gangway.  Not butlers anywhere.  Thankfully the line moved quickly so only took about 10 minutes and we were out of the sun the whole time.

I am still loving the override card for the elevators.  Packed elevator lobby but we had ours all to ourselves.  Non-stop deck 4 to 19.

I forgot to post about lunch.
Before leaving the ship we grabbed a quick bit to eat in the YC restaurant.

Penne pasta with tomato basil sauce for my wife

IMG_3545.thumb.jpeg.472eba399daf81ea160dce7f22dd205e.jpeg

And penne pasta with bolognese sauce for me.  IMG_3546.thumb.jpeg.401af6e9af5135b1ebfbb1d4d3bd96c2.jpeg

Both were delicious but I still prefer my bolognese sauce, carnivore that I am.

I hope you like them!

John, I didn't see these photos until now.  They are awesome.  I like your last still the best.  The colors of the ship's lights match the sunset real well.

There are some that I know that would tell you there is no such thing as ‘too much <insert wine name>’

It’s okay about the picture.  They would have been wonderful but as long as you are enjoying yourself that the important thing.

DaKahuna I will be on the Meraviglia in YC next week(October 6th). The least I can do is get some pictures for you and BCM after your wonderful trip reports. Anything in particular you are looking to see?

Mommapadraig - By chance can you share the name of the Maitre d' and Sommelier on the Meraviglia? Is Hugh still the YC Director?

Thanks David.  I thought i had put a couple over on our Roll Call but guess I did not.

Trying now to swamp that with a lot of non-celebrity related info.

On my day to do a walk about and see if I can get any interesting pictures to share.

Wish me luck as I once again venture out beyond the confines of the YC.

Sounds like a space walk! Make sure you wear a safety line!

We ventured out today because I saw a pub crawl was organized by a man my son played Football with in high school over 30 years ago. He is a lovely man who is the assistant fire chief in the town where my kids grew up. We went to the first bar which was the Infinity all the way down to deck 5 and in the back! We met him and when they moved on to the next bar we stayed where we were. We aren’t big strange shot drinkers. However I will say if you are ever on the Maraviglia and venture out I Gede Yudi Pranata makes one of the best expresso martinis I’ve ever had. We plan on going back tomorrow when he is working. It was a lot of fun but we are now back for naps before Gala night.

One of the bartenders brought this over for my DH to try it’s called brain damage. DH said it tasted like dessert. I gave the bartender an A for creativity.the Infinity bar is a hoot.

Stay safe! 😁

Made it back to the safety and sanity of The One Pool bar where Jerome greeted me with his usual big smile.

The Jungle Pool was crowded.

I went out on Deck 19 .. The Top19 Aura exclusive area.  It was not crowded at all but all the cabanas were occupied

i ordered a Tequila Old Fashioned

IMG_3557.thumb.jpeg.e552b755cff528ae13d5bb25e54d0d0f.jpeg

Tequila Old Fashioned

2 oz tequila,

4 dashes bitters,

4 dashes orange bitters,

1/4oz of simple syrup,

orange peel,

Cherry

stir over ice - tequila old fashioned (can be used with any alcohol)

It was good despite the bartender having to use a sugar packet instead of simple syrup or honey.

Also their tequila selection was not as good as the YCs bars.

Before returning to the sanctity of the YC, i did manage to snag a slice of pepperoni pizza and a soft cream cone.

How exactly does it work when the deck 4 elevator lobby is FULL of folks coming back on board?

When an elevator door opens doesn't everyone who is crushed up against the doors awaiting anyone of them to open just pack into any available elevator?
