Sailing on Liberty to Nova Scotia and the New England States 09/26/24--- sail along with me

My other coffee stop on Liberty of the Seas is to the Crown Lounge on deck 14, formally known as the Diamond Lounge. I love the coffee machine in the Crown Lounge. You can make a regular coffee, a latte or even a macchiato on that machine!

One thing about the Crown Lounge on Liberty of the Seas is that it also has an outdoor space attached. You can make your coffees, grab a snack from the various breakfast items they set out and take them out to the outside deck area and have a seat watching the ocean waves while sipping on your coffee!

Also, I do not know how this My Time Dining thing works as I've never run in to this problem before. Can you just show up at 6:30p and stand in line?

Yes, there is a No Reservations line for My Time Dining.  You can try showing up earlier, as they might have an empty table available from main seating.

Another option is to go to the dining room when you board, and see if they have space available in main seating.

Deb and I were talking about doing just that, heading to the MDR when we board and seeing if we can get early seating. 🤞

If that doesn’t work out, we’ll just go stand in line. 😔

Newbie mistake.

I always book early seating on my cruises. I am not an eat dinner at 8 o'clock kinda girl.

I just noticed the casino rep booked me for My Time Dining. I'm like, are you kidding me right now?

I go on the app and My Time Seating is from 6:30p to 8:30p..bummer. I figure I'll just suck it up and pick the 6:30p time. Nope, they're all taken. The only slots left are after 8p. That's not gonna work for me. Also, I do not know how this My Time Dining thing works as I've never run in to this problem before. Can you just show up at 6:30p and stand in line?

When you board go to the MDR and ask to be switched to early traditional dining.   Hopefully they can accommodate your request😊

Edited

I see now that is your plan.  Hope it works

Cheers to this 4th street BB girl! Some of the best memories!

I’m also doing a casino comp cruise but leaving out of Boston. Can you share your plans for the NE trip? We have Peggys cove and Bay of Fundy down. Are you doing anything interesting?

Hey there!

We plan to walk around each port on our own and sight see a bit, maybe stop in a museum or two, possibly do a bit of shopping.

In Boston, we may take an evening boat ride out for a cruise to sail around the harbor at sunset.

So, no...nothing very interesting at this point. 🤣

What ship are you sailing on?

Yes, we're sailing together on that one. I'm looking forward to that cruise, I've not sailed on Symphony yet. I've sailed on Oasis quite a few times. In fact, my daughter and I sail on Oasis in November. I'm curious how the two compare.

I remember you mentioning you were on a sailing this month, right?  How was it?

I sailed on Oasis in May (MIA to BCN TA) and Symphony earlier this month.  IMO, there's not much difference, although I do like the stateroom layout better on Symphony (similar to Anthem).

I have to agree.  Not much difference between Oasis and Symphony.  But the stateroom layout /furniture is better on the Symphony, as it is similar to Anthem.  I do like the the Aqua show better on Oasis though.

If  you have warm day in Portland and do not have plans try Mail boat minicruise. It is fun https://www.cascobaylines.com/maine-boat-tours/specialty-cruises/mailboat/  In my topic about similar cruise I filmed it

The aqua shows are fantastic, one of the good things about the Oasis class ships!

I always book deck 8 ocean balcony. I like to roam Central Park.

I like this idea. I see they have a run at noon, that'd be a perfect time for us. We leave at 5:30pm. Thanks, we may check this out.

I booked the furthest aft deck 8 boardwalk balcony on Allure.  Can roam Central Park and see the Aqua Theater.

I always forget about that one. In fact, I remember last time I was on Oasis I told myself I was going to book a boardwalk balcony just for the experience, even if I couldn't get that last balcony...and I forgot to do that for these 2 bookings I have.

You know what that means, right??? I'm gonna have to book another cruise! 😂

Well folks, I'm finally all packed and ready to go!

Very excited for sail away finally going to be here tomorrow. As I mentioned, I'm meeting Deb and Jeff for breakfast at the dinner tomorrow morning at 6:30a. Deb and I plan to be on the road by 7:30a. We should arrive by 11am.

Once onboard, we will first hit the muster station and get checked off. Then head to the bar and get our first drink of the day which we'll take with us to the MDR to try to get our dining time changed to first seating. Then we'll head back to a bar and grab another drink for on our way to Chops to make dining arrangements for dinner tomorrow evening using my BOGO D+ benefit (I almost said and to get my free bottle of wine, but that's on Carnival next month, when you book the steakhouse the first night you get a free bottle of cheap wine... I'm all about cheap wine!!). After which, we'll finally make it to the Windjammer buffet for some food.

I figure by the time we finish up eating at the WJ it will be well after the lunch hour so this one night (hopefully) we'll have a late dinner at the steakhouse.

I ordered delivery for dinner tonight from the Italian restaurant down the street (their chicken parm is delicious!). I opened a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon to have with it (ignore that half the bottle is gone, is it my fault they took they so long?) So, I'm thinking I'll take the Merlot with me for the cruise.

Did I tell you how excited I am that tomorrow is finally sail away?????? 🤩

Some of our fellow cruisers from Florida are having problems getting to the port since Tampa closed their airport yesterday. They were supposed to fly out yesterday 😢

Someone posted this morning Air2Sea is going to fly them to Sydney on Monday. They’re gonna miss so much, I feel bad for them!

Cheers from Boleros on deck 4!! We arrived at noon. There was a bit of a delay boarding. We arrived at noon. We were at our muster by 1. It was on the outside deck as we were walking off the gangway…woohoo, quick and easy. Michael’s restaurant was to our left as we walked onboard, another win for us!! They were happy to change us to early seating, no problem. Booked Chops steakhouse BOGO D+ special there too for 7:30pm. Another win! Walked around the corner and bar stools open at Bolreos, another win!!! 😁
