FIRELT5 Posted April 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2006 Just received an e-mail from IR that the RCL Stockholder benefit has been extended until 5/2007. IR website will be updated by the end of week !!!
rubrrick Posted April 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2006 Thanks for the update. That gives me an extra 20 percent annual dividend. Best purchase in a long time!:) Rick
Fblack Posted April 10, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2006 Please explain how the discount works. How may shares must you buy, amount of discount, extra dividend. BTW... the dividend was only 15 cents anyway.
Rare mahdnc Posted April 10, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2006 Frank, here is a link to Royal Caribbean's website which has an FAQ on this shareholder program: http://media.corporate-ir.net/media_files/nys/rcl/RCL_FAQ.pdf
negc Posted April 10, 2006 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2006 You have to own at least 100 shares of Royal Caribbean stock and the shipboard credit (not a discount) varies according to the length of the cruise. If you regularly cruise RCI or Celebrity, it is not a bad benefit.
poetic license Posted April 11, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 11, 2006 Great news! Usually, I get those IR emails, too, but was somehow missed this time around. Thanks for posting. Cheers~ Nicki
Fblack Posted April 11, 2006 #7 Share Posted April 11, 2006 The pdf file on the program says its not applicable to "reduced-rate cruise fares". Does this mean to get the credit a passenger must pay some higher brochure rate fare that one rarely ever pays?
Lsimon Posted April 12, 2006 #8 Share Posted April 12, 2006 I've always booked the best cruise fare I could find, including group rates in one case, and always have received the shareholder discount.

Never had a problem using any discounts( Diamond balcony, C&A Certificates,Letters of credit) with RCCL. Also received price reductions if the price decreased before sailing without any problems. hancock Posted April 12, 2006 #10 Share Posted April 12, 2006 I believe the benefit isn't available to group bookings and interline fares(people in the travel industry discount). It's a great benefit that far outweighs the puny dividend.
greeneg Posted April 12, 2006 #11 Share Posted April 12, 2006 We already have ours credited on our shipboard account for our Jan '07 Mercury Mexican Riveria trip. We usually book one cruise ahead while on board to get the on-board credit and then as soon as we get home, I go ahead and file for the Shareholder Credit. Adds up....and we've always gotten it without any problems.
Fblack Posted April 12, 2006 #12 Share Posted April 12, 2006 You guys convinced me. So I bought 200 shares today and RCCl already gave me my $200 credit. As long as the stock does not drop $2 a share, I am ahead.
CINDON Posted April 12, 2006 #13 Share Posted April 12, 2006 Fblack, You mean as long as the stock doesn't drop $1 per share you won't lose.

Rare mahdnc Posted April 12, 2006 #15 Share Posted April 12, 2006 Fblack,You mean as long as the stock doesn't drop $1 per share you won't lose. I think fblack meant that 100 shares were purchased.

reklawr Posted April 13, 2006 #17 Share Posted April 13, 2006 I just got another $200 onboard credit. This $200 was applied to our next cruise in March '07. That's a total of $600 onboard credit for our last 3 cruises. That pays for a lot of martinis.:D
Fblack Posted April 17, 2006 #18 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Does anyone know if the credit can be used to offset tips applied to our credit card. Carnival has a share holder benefit plan but specifically excludes tips.

BratDet Posted April 17, 2006 #22 Share Posted April 17, 2006 If you belong to costco- go to costco.com and link thru there for sharebuilder.com you get a decent rebate and also 25% off trade charges or something like that when you have executive status or simply use this code Promo Code: FREEGUIDE50 and you will get a rebate of 50$ after your first transaction... or if you have your own stock broker... but I'm a do it yourself kind of person RCL is the code for the stock Bernadette
Sheal Posted April 24, 2006 #23 Share Posted April 24, 2006 Will RC give me a shareholder credit if I have already booked my upcoming trips or does it only apply to those cruises booked after the initial stock purchase? If only I had taken advantage of this two years ago! Will RC also honor the C&A discounts on top of the shareholder incentive? Thanks
Maggie 3 Posted April 24, 2006 #24 Share Posted April 24, 2006 I booked with my TA at the price of $1050.00 .PP. C.C. Class bal. stateroom on a 11 night cruise going to Alaska on May 8, 06 in March 06 then on April 3 06 I purchased 100 shares of RCL stocks. I do all this online I print out my stock purchase, called RCCL got the fax number faxed a copy along with my booking number and now I have a shipboard credit of $200.00. I have done this with CCL for Princess as many times as 3 times in one year.I think if you are on a 7 day cruise you get $100.00 credit. I also had my TA call and make sure it was on my account. I have to say my TA is the best he checks on everything and has always gotten us the best price.
lisiamc Posted April 24, 2006 #25 Share Posted April 24, 2006 Hi Maggie 3, How did RCCL confirm the credit for you? I sent my fax with verification of shares and cruises booked last Tuesday, but have not had a response yet. Many thanks Lisa
