Seattle Transfer??

Would like opinions, please, on using the HAL transfer from the ship to the airport or taking a cab. The HAL transfer is $20, takes about 20 minutes. Our flight leaves at 12:30pm.

What is important to us:

1. Get to airport in time! (obviously:rolleyes: )

2. Considering #1 is accomplished, paying "about" the same money, $20.

Sooo, opinions and/or experiences in how long it takes to "load" the bus, etc. & is there enough time.

Opinions and/or experiences regarding would the cab cost a "lot" more because of traffic, etc.? Anyone know how much the cab costs?

Thanks in advance.

Wondering the same thing. We are on the Westerdam 6/4 sailing and have purchased the transfer also, but am wondering how long it takes to fill up bus. We have plenty of time before our flight but really don't want to wait on bus for a long time. Wondered about the same thing coming in to Seattle. Would like to get to hotel before so late. May be easier to just take a cab?

I have often wondered about posts that advise taking a cab instead of "waiting for the HAL bus to load". I consistently take the HAL transfer and have never found waiting to be a problem.

When the bus arrives everyone scheduled for that bus is called (disembarkation tags are the same color). We all head out at the same time, claim our luggage, then mass toward the bus.

The problem is more the jam-up trying to get on than it is waiting for people to board.

The cabs will take you directly to your airline dropoff area.

The HAL transfer bus takes you to a special drop off area. Then you have to get to a porter and get your luggage to the proper area. Sometimes they have various airline check-in people right there to take care of your luggage. Can't be certain if your airline would be represented there. The last time we were at SeaTac only these airlines were represented: Delta, American and United.

KK & Ruth C. (& anyone else!), not that I expect anyone to have all of the Seattle transfer answers, but just in case someone knows or has a good idea........

1. anyone know the approximate cost of a cab?

2. are the cabs readily available at the dock or is there a "rush & push" for them? because we just don't rush & push so we would probably be waiting forever!:o

3. Also, what are the thoughts about whether our disembarkment would be sooner with the HAL transfer than it would be with just listing our flight time & that we are independent?

4. Regarding the bus "drop off" at the airport - Am I right to assume that we would be able to walk "inside" the terminal to our airline desk? (Once in Boston, the HAL arranged bus tried to take DH & I to a different airport terminal building because he did not want to stop just for us!! If we had not insisted, we would have walked a long ways in the traffic lanes of the airport - while dragging our 4 suitcases!!!)

Thanks for the posts, KK, Ruth C., & Nana

Do you know if that is a fixed rate or metered rate? Wondering if the cab cost could go way up if caught in traffic - of course, we are disembarking on a Sunday - but then there could be a ball game or other big activity!!
