Just a heads up-we recently stayed at the Condado Lagoon Villas-I believe it's the time share part of the Caribe Hilton, from a bid we won on Priceline. We were not charged any resort fee, though they did make us wait until 4pm to check in which was really aggravating since our plane arrived at noon. It was not an issue of being too full either, because when we arrived they said they had a room that was empty they just needed to clean it and it would just be a little while-2+ hrs later we finally got in. The Lagoon Villas were definitely not full based on the number of people we saw there.

Also we were not charged a resort fee, but we did speak with another couple who'd also rec'd their room through a priceline bid though they were in the main hotel and they were charged a resort fee (not sure how much).

People staying at the lagoon villas have full access to the resort also.

Lovely resort, expensive food/drink.

Just got the Sheraton Old San Juan for 5/2 after our cruise for $83 on Priceline. It looks very convenient to the main cruise port, but we are arriving at the Pan American pier. It got mixed reviews on Trip Advisor, but it looks to be in the middle of Old San Juan. Anyone have any experiences here?

So, we needed a room for 1 night on 11/06 and got the Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino after bidding $110. (I began really low and added the non-resort locations and upped $5 each bid and got nothing until I included 4 star). Total with taxes and $5 insurance came to $135.xx. Not bad. I hope I can find more information on this resort within the forum, like transportation, dining options, etc.

Thanks for all the posts and info within

I got the same place for $90 just now, for August 28-29, for our precruise! I couldnt believe it!:D

Date: 04/24 - 04/25/2010

# of nights: 1 (pre cruise)

Hotel: Caribe Hilton

Area: San Juan, PR

Site: Hotwire

Price: $114/night

This was the hotel that I wanted! I fiddled around with Priceline the last few days, but my bids kept getting rejected. When I got around the $110 price, I noticed on Hotwire the price was similar today, so I just went with them.

Now I have to get a post cruise hotel.

I can't get my bids accepted for resort in San Juan. I read to add other areas along with the resort, but I'm afraid that priceline may send me way out. I want a resort in the San Juan Area. Suggestions????

After 2 days of bidding, success with the Intercontinental 112.00/night plus taxes of 20.90 for a total fo 130.90. I believe there are additional fees at checkout for resort and casino. Can anyone let me know what they cost. I bid resort, San Juan, added 4 star and had to add Cabo Rojos and keep upping bid. This is pre cruise for May 1.

First off, how much are you bidding? When you bid, are you bidding for "Resort" in San Juan area? If that bid is rejected, you can add a different area, but one that doesn't have a resort, so you will still get something in the San Juan area. You just have to add the other area, for a chance to re-bid.

Add Cabo Rojo, or Dorado, as areas to look, as they don't have any resorts in those areas. Then up your bid a little, and try again.

I bid :

Resort

San Juan

$90 bid got rejected, so I re-bid after adding Condado,

$110 bid accepted, got Marriott Stellis Casino. If you still need help, go to biddingfortravel dot com, that will help you.

Has any one tried to win the Embassy Suites on priceline? We would like to stay there post cruise April 25.

I tried to get Embassy Suites today, but ended up with San Juan Water and Beach Club. I got it on Priceline with my first bid of $75 for April 25. We have an early flight on the 26th, so it will work out okay since it's very close to the airport. It has some great reviews and some not so good ones, but we will only be there to sleep for one night, so I'm sure it will be fine. And you can't beat the price!!

Do any of the "resort" hotels have any shopping, CVS, Walgreens, grocery store or fast food restaurants:eek: within walking distance?

If trying for the Marriott Stellaris should I request San Juan and Condado?

Both the Intercontinental and the Marriott Stellaris have a CVS or Walgreens near them. And there is a grocery store near the Intercontinental. Both are great hotels, lots of things close by.

This pic shows you how close Walgreens is to the Marriott, this shot was taken from the street right in front of the Marriott:

I got Hilton Doubletree for 95 dollars it is number 2 on trip advisor and reading the reviews people were very happy with this choice/

I am interested in Doubletree San Juan for my pre-cruise hotel. Where did you get this? Was it through Priceline or Hotwire? What dates was this for? Any other specific information would be appreciated.

Thanks
