Last summer, the Superstar Libra (ex Norwegain Sea, ex Seaward) was sailing from Malta for Eastern Mediterranean cruises. This winter, it returns to sail from Mumbai (Bombay), India.

The Norwegian Wind wil soon join it at Star Cruises as the Superstar Aries, but sailing from Hong Kong, the Spirit's (ex Superstar Leo) old seas.

Thanks for for the good laugh. I sailed the SEA at least 5 times and the dinning room always vibrated. Sometimes the cabins too.......... she also holds a special place in my heart having sailed her so many times. Hated to see her leave the fleet. I remember sailing her when she was only a few years old and being wow by her................. Thanks again, i really did laugh out loud reading your post..........

This is probably a stupid question but..... Was the Seaward known as the M.S. Seaward? I have a lapel pin that has a ships wheel and the ship on the front of the wheel. It does not say NCL anywhere on it but was wondering if it is one in the same. Thanks for any info.

I actually sailed her 4 times. I only have it listed in my signature 3 times because I just can't remember the other date. That dining room is what always stands out the most in my memory. Those were the worst shaft vibrations I ever felt on a ship. I used to hold my drink to keep it from spilling. LOL, those were great days.:)

Yes,,was on the Sea several years ago for 13 days...still one of the most fun and memorable cruises we ever had..the (vibrating) dining room and especially those beat up metal drawers in the stateroom that would fall off their tracks..usually on the top of my foot! Loved that ship..the friendly crew, the size of her..so easy to get from place to place!

I'd sail her again in a heartbeat!

The Seaward was the very first ship we cruised on. The ship was only a few months old and we were overwhelmed when we first saw her. We loved the ship and were hooked on cruising from that day onward and that has never changed. We went on to do 2 more cruises on the Seaward before we decided to try other ships. Happy Days indeed.

My first cruise was on the Seaward as well - Jan 1989 - It was the ship of the year back then.

This report was posted on the 21 the Seaward now the Super Star Libra and an incident

A boat used to ferry passengers from the ship to shore capsized off Kadamat Isalnd near Lakshadweep (India). A 14 year old girl drowned in the accident; nine other passengers were safely rescued

The Seaward was one of my earliest and best cruises too. On that cruise my husband and I met a wonderful older couple at our dinner table. It is nearly twenty years later; we have communicated monthly with Ruth and Rob all this time and seen them on an almost annual basis either at our home in Toronto or theirs in Miami. The Seaward will always hold fond memories for us!

We sailed the Sea in March 2005 and I really liked the coziness of the ship. We just stepped off the Dream this morning...she's a lot like the Sea. We had a great time and the crew was awesome!

It's great the read you had a great cruise on the Dream. I'll be sailing on her on December 9. Did you enjoy any specific shore excursions? Did you enjoy the new NCL menus? Did you hear any juicy scuttlebutt about the ship?

It's also the ship that got me hooked on Cruising in 2005. Everyone on board talked about how old the ship was, but I thought she was just wonderful. The vibration put me to sleep every night.

Also, my brother and sister in-law got engaged on the deck of the Sea in 1988, and it was the first ship my parents cruised on in 1987. It holds lots of memories for my family.

NCL's Seaward Makes Sporty Debut ] NEW YORK--The 1,534-passenger Seaward, Norwegian Cruise Line's newest vessel, arrived here on schedule from Finland for its christening and a gala benefit honoring U.S. Olympians.

Several sports stars were inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame as part of the ceremony. All proceeds--nearly $200,000--from the benefit will go ...

It thought it was 21 years ago I believe when we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary when we were put on the Seaward,, because the ship we had booked was "taken out of the water...Our first cruise and we were hooked..My memory is that we were seated with couples on their honeymoon and we were celebrating ur 30th wedding anniversary...We managed to change to a table with a couple from Toronto and their relatives from Scotland.. The service was "french style"..and it sold us on cruising.. If I remember correctly it was either the first or second week in September. A few years ago we sailed her from NY to go to Bermuda...well, weended up in Bermuda north because of a terrible storm..Yes, the ship was old and worn, but the service and staff were outstanding` but then again I'm old and getting worn out. We have sailed the NCL Sky and the Carnival Imagination... and I long for the days of the smaller ships..

We were the lucky ones to be on the last Sea sailing out of Houston through Panama to L.A. summer of 2005. We were awed by the speed that they packed everything up the morning we disembarked, like they plastic wrapped the slot machines in the casino. My memory of the Sea will always be the group of people who had Sunday Services with us in the theater. It was a 16-day cruise, so we had 2 Sundays together. We organized the first one for the the 13 of us originally, but many showed up. Then the 2nd Sunday many people participated in providing programs including preaching, singing, etc. What a wonderful time we had!
