Final Payment Due??

Q: When is the final payment for my cruise vacation due?s.gifA: Final payment of the balance must be received at Royal Caribbean's offices at least 60 days prior to the sailing date for 3, 4, or 5-night cruise vacations and 70 days prior to the sailing date for 7-night or longer cruise vacations. The payment schedule for groups is different from that of individuals. You will usually receive cruise and air documents no later than 28 days before the start of your cruise.

For all holiday sailings, (Christmas and New Year's), payment is due 90 days prior to sailing.

Also if you booked through RCCL, you can go to your reservation and push the make a payment button on the right side of page. Press the accept payment terms and condititions, and on the next page it will till you when full payment is due.

I book directly through Royal Caribbean and my last couple cruises they have definitely sent me an e-mail reminder twice each time. The first time is @ 1 month before final payment is due and the second one 2-3 weeks later. It may be they just do this for booked up cruises or in the case of one, we booked the RFS. They probably have waiting lists, and figure if they send it and you are going to cancel you may do so sooner. For whatever reason, it is nice to get the reminder. Not that I forget, or even stop thinking about, my upcoming cruises. LOL!

Yes Wrona, I think so. The other one we got the reminder for is sold out in the JS category and we have a JS booked so they probably have a waiting list. We are on the waiting list for a GS for that cruise and hope someone cancels their GS when they get their reminder! It is our first cruise without the kids so we are excited!

Have a great time on your cruise and keep us posted. I am jealous that you get to go tomorrow and I have to wait 31 more days!!!

Really? Do you use the same reservation specialist at RCCL for each booking? Or maybe it has to do with the category. The last 4 have been booked with RCCL directly, and we have never received a reminder, by email or any other way. I just put it on the calendar, and then pay it a week before the due date. :)

It's hard to wait. Hopefully you'll get your upgrade. My roommate and I are contemplating trying for a pier upgrade on Saturday.

pbhunt,

No, I just use the reservation specialist who happens to get my call. We did not get the reminder for our two connecting D1's on the Navigator last summer and it was basically sold out, so maybe it is JS and higher. Who knows? I would definitely rather get a visit from the upgrade fairy than an e-mail reminder any day. I got the e-mail reminder for our (and your) upcoming Alaska cruise last week and final payment isn't due until the first week in March.

Are you going on another cruise before Alaska? How fun!:D I have final as March 3rd for Alaska. I am trying to decide whether to pay it off a little early for RCCL points.

pbhunt,

Yes, we go on the Vision of the Seas in March to the Mexican Riviera out of L.A. It is Spring Break here in Texas and we are taking our youngest daughter (13 yrs) and two of her friends. We have the RFS booked. I am getting very excited. We got our documents last week! The Alaska cruise is the first cruise my husband and I take alone. I hope it is the first of many to come.

  • 2 weeks later...
When you booked, you should have been told when the due date was--didn't you write it down??? They do not send reminders!

I paid in full in July 2006 so I didn't worry about the final payment. Then the infamous tax was added, but I was not notified of it in any way. I found out while looking up excursions. After the extra $100 was paid the balance was back to zero.

I did get an email notification to pay my final balance two weeks ago (the zero balance!).
