You're not nosy, you're detail oriented.

There are 37 days left til we leave for our Mariner cruise.

Hey Schplinky... we're sailing on the Mariner the week before you (Apr 15 - Eastern). And I'm from Ottawa to!! Last time we were on the Mariner in August there was a girl from Ottawa working in the Casino. Hope you have a great trip!

Schplinky,

This is totally off topic. Before moving to FL, we lived upstate NY, near Syracuse. A friend belonged to the VFW or some organisation and they had a weekend trip to Ottawa for the tulip festival.

I have to say, it was absolutely the most beautiful display of tulips I have ever seen. We had such a wonderful time up there. I have thought about that trip so many times over the years. Someday, I just might have to go back.

Wow!! I never knew I would come back to two pages of comments from my thread. Sorry about it being so brief, but the internet is very very very slow on Mariner, and it took all of my 10 free minutes I got in the coupon for that tiny post, so I tried to make it as thorough as possible!

Anyway, I am home now and like things go when you get back from vacation everything is hectic at home and will be at work in morning (I had a billion voice mails) so I will get my review up sometime this week, but I just cant do it right now. I am exhausted!!!!

I will tell you that I did speak with Becky Thomson and she will be leaving for vacation April 1, and is scheduled to return May 27. She told me that they do not have her scheduled to open Liberty AT THIS TIME, but things change on the dime in the industry. She said her vacation could also change, but she doesnt think it will. I have no idea when Captain Johnny started his current 10 weeks, but he said he is on 10 weeks on/10 weeks off. And that was repeated in Captains Corner. He also said he gets to bring his family on for 2 of those weeks. He is the Mariner's captain, and that is not scheduled to change in the future, so unless he is on holiday he should be there for you!!

Ok, as for compasses, I do not have means to scan them all in and I did not get the actual menus BUT I did jot down all the entrees for each dinner. I will touch on this in my review and am getting a post of those entrees out tonight before I go to bed. I have time to do that part.

I PROMISE PROMISE to get a full review up before week's end. I have to get my priorities with family and work out of the way because I didnt think I would come home to so many issues, but I did!

MARINER is a BEAUTIFUL SHIP. I do not know how anyone can have a bad time overall on this ship. Were there some things I didnt like? Sure! But overall I loved my cruise. I will touch on all of this in my review. It will be super long I am sure, so please bare with me and stay tuned this week!!! Thanks for your cooperation and patience as I get back to

R-E-A-L-I-T-Y here on the main land. :)

Welcome home Marissa - Thanks for you post. Glad you are going to post the entrees - that will help us decide possibly another night for Portofinos. We are going to Chops on Wed night. Does any other night stand out as weak in the dining room

Hope reality isn't too rough on you and going back to work isn't too painful. We appreciate your into and look forward to your review.

It is incredible, you're right. We sheltered the Dutch Royal Family here during the war. They have a law that says an heir must be born on Dutch soil and the Queen gave birth while they were here. They delcared the Civic Hospital to be Dutch soil that day so that the princess (the current Queen) could inherit. In gratitude, they have sent millions of tulips.

Hi all...I'm just home from the Mariner today too :) Pretty sad to be home, but overall a nice trip. Compared to the Adventure back in September, I actually preferred the Adventure. The Mariner is getting a little worn, although I understand she will be headed for dry dock soon and there was already new rolls of carpeting laying in the floor on deck 1, so carpeting is well overdue to be replaced and looks like it will be soon.

While Becky and the rest of the staff was good, I preferred the staff on the Adventure once again. Except for Dan the piano man that is :) He definitely had the advantage there....very funny and personable guy. Kristy the shopping guru needs to be a bit more personable as well, so Donnell from the Adventure definitely had her beat again.

I never did get to the Meet & Mingle party, unfortunately. I'll be checking back here as well for the OP's review and any follow-ups :) Now, back to reality LOL....

That's such great news about Becky! I'll be sailing Mariner again on June 17th, so it sounds like we'll have the pleasure of having Becky as our CD again. :) On our Mariner cruise last June, we missed out on having Capt. Johnny. I sure home his 10 on/10 off schedule has him back on when we sail this time.

I'm so excited about sailing on Mariner again -- I need a vacation so badly!!

Eagerly awaiting your full review!! (what about the dining room changes??? Is it to the menu??? I hope they didn't get rid of the Vadalia Onion Tart, and my husband says he "hopes they didn't get rid of Savory Bites!")
