All Things Enchantment of the Seas

I will be on the Enchantment this Saturday...just one question....Do the TV's in the rooms have the red/whit inputs so I can hook my ipod up to it?

I don't have the answer to your question, but I just wanted to say that we are going to be on the ship Sat too! I haven't seen anyone else on here for our ship, but I assume it's because it is a chartered cruise. Are you going with Best Buy too or another company?? Have fun! :D

I can not wait to go on mine in Jan. If you have a chance - would you check out cabins 8584 and 8586 - I am trying to find out if there is a pole in the middle of the room and if they are good rooms.

Have a great cruise!!!!!!!

Mommabean- Do you know that two of your photo links are marked private on Flickr? I was wanting to see your Enchantment photos since I'll be sailing on her on the 22nd.

I recently found out there was a problem. Yahoo moved my pics there and then since I don't pay for hosting, they dumped 2 of my albums - 2 cruise albums I wanted to keep. I have since deleted the 2 sets I didn't want and have contacted them to put the other 2 sets of pictures back. I think the links are basically dead links that I can't make public. I hope to get that issue resolved soon.

In the meantime, here are the most recent Enchantment pictures I have from just a few weeks ago. I don't have many photos from around the ship since I had already taken so many on my previous Enchantment trips. But this should help a little bit - at least you will see how much fun we had cruising on Enchantment. But beware - there are over 400 pictures. :D

There are loads of pictures of us and our friends who we met through cruise critic. This cruise was our first face to face meeting. :) And we had a blast.

Oh my!! Did I look that bad. ;) It was great meeting and saying hi to you guys and maybe next time we can spend a bit of time together. I always seem to get myself tied up into something or other.

Hey folks, you really do meet cc folks on your cruise. Got to meet Gina and the DH and Bill W. I recognized Gina from her picture here but she and her DH look much better in person.

Mommabean tell me about the light houe in Key West. Did you walk there on your own? I didn't realize they have a light house. I want to go there. How much was it to go up in it? Will be on Enchantment in Jan. Can't wait!

Here is a good website with info about the lighthouse. It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the dock at Mallory Square! The whole tour takes about 30 to 45 minutes. The Hemingway House is right across the street and Southernmost Point is about 5 blocks away!

Hey! You look GOOD in that picture - I TOOK it! At least I got one of you. Are you saying we DON'T look so good in ours? Just kidding. I know what you're saying. :)

It was fun to run into you and I'm glad you introduced yourself. At least we knew where to find you every night - that way we could say hi.

Yes, we walked. Bill-Wi took us there and we had fun. You get a great view of the ship from up top. As many times as I've been to Key West in my life, I'd never been up in the lighthouse. It was nice to do something different - and there were no other cruisers there with us. We had the place to ourselves most of the time.

If you go, pet Pretty Boy for me. He's the resident cat with his own line of greeting cards. :)

Hey mommabean ... your pictures were great!

About the lighthouse ... can we walk there and not do the tour? I think we'd like to go there and see the southern most point too. then hit the duval bars. think we would have time to do it all?

You have time to do that and more...You CAN be off the ship at 7:30 AM (if you wish), and do not have to be back until 1:15PM. Good way to end your day in Key West is at the Blonde Giraffe for a Key Lime pie on a stick covered in cholcolate...with a beer chaser if you are so inclined...:D

Have a great time and say hi to Julian if you have CL privileges!

You can do that and more. Like Bill said, just get off the ship early. Wear good walking shoes and you can walk to all the places you mentioned and more. As you can see from my pictures, we started off with a leisurely breakfast at La Te Da and did all the things you want to do - AND even more!

It really is worth it to get up early on Key West day and get off and do things. Save sleeping late for the later port days.

I'm really excited that our next Enchantment cruise in Dec. has the Key West port day scheduled from 9am - 6pm. It's not often that they schedule such a "late" arrival with 9 hours in port.

Thanks Bill and Gina. I think thats the plan. Get up and out by 730. Walk to the southern most point and light house. Hit the bars on the way back to the ship. I can't wait to try enchantment. We were on grandeur last year and adventure the year before.

To be honest, I think I prefer the voyager class of ships, because we really liked the promenade. But this cruise just fit the price range and timing. And ya never know, maybe Ill fall in love with her.

I love the Promenade, too. I've only been on a Voyager class once though - my very first cruise. Obviously I haven't been disappointed by Enchantment since I have her booked again for a 4th time in December. I'm sure you'll enjoy her, too. I like the layout of the ship so much that I don't feel like I miss the Promenade at all. All of her public areas seem roomy and spacious - bars included. And with the dining room having 2 floors and the beautiful stairway inside, it doesn't have that closed in feel of the Sovereign class dining rooms.

Okay, I remember seeing a program on Discovery or the Travel Channel or similar about the Stretching of the Enchantment. I am hoping to book for a cruise on her in January, and would love to see that again. Does anyone remember what channel ran it or know where you could buy it on DVD?

Or, did I just dream that I saw it, and have lost my marbles?

Thanks!

Jumping on the bandwagon here! We are leaving on the Enchantment in 29 days and we are very excited. This is our first time on a larger ship ( have only sailed the Empress) and would like to hear from past Enchantment cruisers. What's the good, the bad and the ugly? ;) What is there that is not to miss on board? Please share your experiences on the Enchantment!

We just went on the Enchantment (Sept 25-29, 2007). You gotta love her. She is not only bigger than her sister ships but also a little different (due to the "stretch"). It's hard to say whats best on her. The Solarium pool will come in handy for you. It is a nice adult only area. It was kinda warm and sticky when we went on but since you are going in a time when it is a little cooler it will be nice and warm for you. Staff is, throughout the ship, awsome. The most important part: ships activities are easily reachable. The EotS is very clean.

If you want to I can give you a link for my private PRE cruise site. I organized a family trip and put a little site up. I have some real awesome pictures of the 'stretch' in 2005.

You gonna enjoy her.

I want to know how I can get into the conceirge lounge to met Julian after all the great things I've heard read and seen. There are no suites left on our cruise to upgrade to and I won't be a "diamond with C&A" until January. I'd love to do the Bridge tour also. We leave in four days on Thursday. We have 10-12 cabins meeting for drinks at our Meet and Mingle from our 10/18 roll call---any suggestions???? I thought I'd just pop up there and say I knew you guys and maybe he'd let us in anyway????
