Well, she started out by getting testy about "not wanting to have to wait in lines". (I should have turned around then and there, but no, I'm a glutton for punishment). That's why I made sure we left her house at 10 in the morning.

She wasn't happy with the size of the cabin. There was a slight odor, which was corrected IMMEDIATELY within hours after I kindly informed the staff at guest relations, but she didn't like that. She wouldn't go to the shows because she said she doesn't like singing and dancing. She sat through 2 jokes and left during the comedian's act. She didn't want to see any of the games so I went to Quest and other games alone. I invited her to the P/D party and to the Captain's party but she didn't want to go. She did go in the pool one day, but not to the deck party/ice carving/buffet.

I don't mind going places alone, so I went to all the events and I met many nice pax and had a wonderful time alone. She said she'll never book another cruise so I'm off the hook :D in the future.

Oh...I nearly forgot....she didn't like the dining room either. I think she felt that it cut into her casino time. The last night I told her to go to the WJ if she wanted to but I was NOT going to miss the dining room because that's the night the waiters, bus boys and head waiters received their tips. She went with me but I know she was not happy.

Sounds like she is better off staying away from cruise ships. Sounds like she doesn't like doing much of anything. :eek: :)

YES! That's what I think. Although I do admit that I like the idea of Navigator of the Seas doing short cruises. Even though by the time they start that I'll be living in Central FL and have to drive a few hours to get there. It's still easier than flying in.

 

Enchantment is only leaving for part of the year though, isn't it?

haha..sounds like a friend I went with on the SS once too..............it was the longest 3 days in my life.........I called my husband from Nassau to vent......:mad: :mad: Nothing could please her either..........

Ahhh...You KNOW what I went through then! It was the longest of my life too. I told my husband that I feel like I wasted time out of my life worrying about her not being happy.

To be honest, it was actually worse, but some things are better left unposted. Too bad you and I didn't sail the same cruise...they could have been miserable together while we had a great time!! :D

I have a JS booked on her March 31st 2008 and so far I have not seen anything on the Royal Caribbean web site. What I would like to know is will our cruise out of Port Canaveral on Sovereign be affected.

Was her name Cindy??:p Cause she loved the casino too........didnt go to the shows so she could go play the slots,complained about the food.......(and my friend SNORED!!!:eek: :eek: )...........

 

But she still loves to cruise,.......and whenever she says we need to go again,I avoid any answer at all..........:D

Yea, just means they are not pulling the SS before then......I am sure it wont be for awhile.........thats IMHO......(which of course,could be very wrong)....but I bet it will be 2009 or at least closer to then..

 

 

PS.thought you called him Adam?? ;) ;)

I do when I have been talking to him a lot but this is the first I have in a couple of months so formal is back :D . I agree with you I would say it will be 2009 or perhaps a little later when they do move Sovereign. It will most likely occur after the Mariner replacement has happened and they will have a replacement for Sovereign in mind (Probably a Vision Class)

The Sovereign was our 1st cruise. We did see the ship in the Bahamas after the stretch. Took lots of pictures. Hard to keep up with all the changes RCI is doing with their ships as far as moving them to different ports.

No but she could have been Cindy's twin for all we know!! She even said, "I'll bet this is the worst cruise you've ever been on". (I just thought....Please let this be over soon). She moved away years ago and I hadn't seen her in all that time so I had no idea what to expect. Oh well...it's over. :p

I agree with some of the comments of the other folks; and, it appears that the Majesty will soon join Sovereign of the Seas. While these two ships were once reasonably acceptable , they are now far below the norm of the better cruise ships of today.

 

Empress is going to be joining the Sovereign. Empress is going over in March 2008. RCCL is taking reservations through 2009 for the Sovereign so my guess it will move over in 2009. RCCL tends to hold onto ships for about 15-20 before selling them or moving them to other cruise lines. Sovereign was built in 1988 so it's time to go. Personally I like the newer ships, they seem to have more updated features and a more attractive decor.

RCCL also owns Celebrity which just moved the Zenith to the Pullmantur line. Sovereign would be Pullmantur's largest ship when it goes over.
