We are set to dock in St. George in a few hours. The first night(the 20th) we had some interesting seas. Not sure of the wave sizes, but they were high enough to really get us rocking.

Just a quick few things that I have though of so far.

Ship:

The ship is beautiful. I will agree with others who have said if you are use to the big ships and the activites that go with them. This isn't the ship or cruise line for you.

Dining and Food:

Breeza is open and running. I have enjoyed it twice so far. I have found the food lacking in the main food area. The meat under the hot light is very dry. The lacking comes in the side dishes. It's like the food repeats it's self. If you have cook to order stir fry, then don't have a veggie stir fry as a side dish. If your going to have cook to order pasta, don't have a lasanga as a main dish. They need a wider varity of side dishes.

The cook to order stir fry and pasta seem to be popular with the guest. I have done the pasta and it was really really good! Tonight some of us is going to Prime C for dinner. I have to say with this book EARLY as the times seem to go fast!

Comparing this to my Century cruise last month. On that ship in the buffet, waiters were walking around refilling our drinks asking us if we needed anything. Waiting to carry our trays to our tables. That isn't the case here. I know they brought on a whole lot of new people the day we sailed. So I think that is part of the problem. I have seen a few "older" staff members correct some of the "newer" ones. So it's a still a learning process.

My Room:

I am in room 6037 which has a view of a orange life boat. If I lean out touching my forehead to the window and turn looking to the right, I can see the water. These rooms are turned long ways so the boats can be tucked neatly into the ship. This cabin has as much room as my recent cabin on the Century(inside). The permentant fridges haven't got here yet. So we have little bitty ones that sit on the floor. I was told yesterday that this is set to be fixed in the next week or so. Also the tv latches aren't in all the cabins yet. They have done half of the ship and expect to have the other half done by next week.

Plenty of room to put my luggage in this room. Bring an extention cord if you need somethng to run by your bed. As in this room it's a good 10 feet from the head of the bed to the plug in. This cabin has lamps by the bed.

I guess that's all for now. If anybody has any questions let me know and I'll check in later.

I'm going to be down the hall from you...6033, with a better obstructed view (smaller boat).

How is the noise level in your area - do you hear foot traffic getting off the elevator? any noise from Casino above? Most particularly, do they take the boats down for anything...do they wake you up with that?

How big is the itty bitty fridge? I was going to bring a couple of my favorite yogurts, some water bottles, etc. Do you think there's a chance of getting the new ones for our repositioning cruise (this Saturday)? Same question with the TV mount.

Thanks!

I am also on the 14 night repositioning cruise 10/27-11/10.

Can you ask the cruise director or activities staff people if they are planning any themed nights - such as a Halloween party, the Celebrity "white night" party, Tropical night on the pool deck party, the 50's - 50's night, etc. They usually do these on Celebrity, but not sure if they will do the same on Azamara.

Also, do they know what some of the nightly entertainment might be for the repositioning cruise.

And, is the water and beach still warm enough for sunning and swimming?

Thanks in advance.

Honestly, I haven't heard much foot traffic at all. The casino will be below you on deck 5. No, I haven't heard anything from it at all. I can hear people in the next cabin to me.

They did take the life boats down today for a crew drill. It was around noon and I was out of the cabin. It was in the newsletter thing the night before, so I knew to be out of the cabin. I have a railing outside my window that someone would have stood on. So yeah, if you were in the cabin, you would very much hear anything being done with the life boats.

This is my 17 inch carry-on next to the current fridges.

I will ask about the fridge, but I got the impression that they plan to have it all done by then.

I'll ask the new CD Becky Fields all of your questions and get back to you. Oh also the ship is getting a new Capitan, starting next week. Not sure of his name, but I can tell you he is around 35 years old, and he worked for Princess for 11 years, before coming aboard. I'll get you his information and let you know later.

Others have said that the Casino doesn't get particularly crowded. Could you confirm this?

Also could you estimate how many of the Slots might be Penny, Nickel, or Dime machines? And are those always occupied - would you have to wait for someone to get up to get a shot at one of these machines?

Thanks for answering my other questions. It was so nice of you to take the time to get a photo of the Fridge - using your suitcase was a great idea!

someone posted the menus but they could not be read. what are they like?

Is there any entertainment or music onboard?

I have my scanner with me, so I will ask if I can scan a few of the menus to post. I also plan to scan my PURSUITS that I get every night. That way you can see some of the activites on the ship. Not sure if it will be done while I'm on the cruise or not.

Amlee - Thanks for posting while on board.

Can you ask if the self-serve laundry facilities will be up and running for the Oct 27 cruise? If not for the Oct 27 cruise, how about the Nov 11 cruise?

There are to be no self service laundry facilities on Azamara

Actually there WILL be self-service laundry facilities AFTER the Bermuda sailings.

I know it's been said on here that they are working on the self service laundry. I haven't even thought about it. But I will add it to my list of things to ask about.

I have walked through the casino a few times during the day yesterday and it wasn't crowed at all. Plenty of machines open. Now I didn't see what kind they were, so I'll check tomorrow and let you know. My plans tomorrow are to walk around the ship and take pictures of the different places while others are in Hamilton.

Your welcome! My suitcase was the only thing I had to compare the size too.

I did Prime C tonight and the food was wonderful!! It has Steak, Seafood, Veal, Chicken, and Pork.

I had a 3 cheese onion soup, a Mozzreilla(sp) cheese and tomato starter, Double Colorado(sp) Pork Chops with mac and cheese, and last but not least Chocolate lava cake. OMG! It was wonderful!

Tomorrow night, I'm looking forward to the star gazing with the capt!

More tomorrow!

Hi Hcat !

I have several of Journey's menus posted here :

The menus have changed a bit, but this should give you a good idea as to what to expect. I will try and get some current menus when I am on Quest this week.

I asked about this last night and I was told that the room for this was painted yesterday. I was told it would be up and running by the 27th of Oct.

I haven't got a chance to ask about future activites, but I will do this by the end of the cruise.

Great news!!

Should we bring quarters? - do we charge to our keycards? or, even better, will it be complimentary?

It will be coined operated. So you will need change.

On a side note. Today they were ripping up the hall carpet on the forward port side of the ship. I plan to walk back up that way tomorrow to see what is put back down.

My daughter (Katie) and her new husband (Kyle) are honeymooning on this cruise.

They said the seas were VERY rough crossing and had to leave dinner because they were sick. Hope the return trip is much better. They also went on a deep sea fishing trip and spent the time with their heads over the side of the boat. Hope they now have a stash of Dramamine!

Also, Katie mentioned Bermuda is much different than the carribbean islands. The attitudes are different and not as relaxed.

She did mention the ship is beautiful, her butler is great and the food is wonderful. Also said the teak deck chairs are very nice and comfy.

I'm jealous of all of you on this cruise!

Denise

Denise, If your daughter is on the "pill", you may be a grandmother in 9 months if she is experiencing alot of sea sickness and losing her stomach contents

Hi,

Just got off the Journey also.

Entertainment small but great. Piano player in Cova Cafe was Carlos Avalon and really good and friendly. Harpist palyed in Cova Cafe and Michaels Club. Michaels was also the library. No exchange books; all the books had Azamara label on them. Good selection of hard cover books. Nice and quiet place to read. Did not use the casino but had a lot of people there; casino not open in Bermuda while at port. Cabins were small but I thought well laid out. We had cabin 6036 and partially obstructed view. Bathroon small but I talked with a tall couple and even though the shower was small they said it was high enough ceiling for them. No drinking glasses in bathroom. Be careful with the bathmat on the floor;it is not skid proof. Had nice sized containers of Elemis shampoo, conditioners and lotion. Beds comfortable; nice pillows. Lamps at side of bed.

Disappointed in the Prime C with the steak; ours was not tender but some in our party ate later the same night and had really tender steak. We liked open seating and did not have long waits, even when we had a large group. Service needs improving but staff friendly and they did try to be helpful. Cruise staff really great and listened to our questions. I was on Celebrity in Sept and Celebrity did a better job. This is short and I am in Atlantic City for a convention. Buffet for lunch asking price at Trump Taj Mahal was $21.47 per person. I did not get the buffet. Enjoy yours on the ship. I will write more next week.
