DKNE Posted January 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2008 If you were to take out money out of the ATM's in Puerto Rico, what currency would it be?? I know years ago in Martinique it was 'francs', and we had to use it all before boarding or we were stuck with it! Any island that you can take out USD $$?? vjblk Posted January 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2008 Puerto Rico is a US territory. They use the US Dollar. It would be the same on any of the US Virgin Islands.

paul929207 Posted January 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2008 Puerto Rico is part of the United States of America. The only legal currency there is the US$. An ATM will dispense US$.

eandj Posted January 23, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 23, 2008 Make sure you notify your bank ahead of time where you will be. Or the ATM might eat your card as unauthorized. Same for charge cards.
