Thank You, Thank You. What a great thread. We are going on our first Carnival cruise in April and were not sure what to expect. We have been on both Princess and RCI quite a few times. But wanted to try Carnival. So looking forward to this cruise.

Happy Cruising all.

I have been on 4 (soon to be 5) cruises on Carnival and one on RCCL. We think the food is better on Carnival hands down! We were not impressed very much with the food on RCCL. I love the people that cruise Carnival and the staff is generally great! Of course, I am the type of person who just really enjoys a vacation - OK, I live for it!! I always see the glas half full. I don't get people who always seem to find something to complain about!. We have never been disappointed with Carnival.

Havent been on any other lines, but my favorite thing on the boat is the 24hr pizza, after a night of singing along with the piano man, or dancing in the casino to the guitar player ( valor casino guitar guy is great) forgot his name though. Then you hit the disco, cause by now the miami vices have you invisible. you take a nice walk in the fresh night air to the back and grab a few slices to fill up before bed. I have done this quite a few times haha. Have fun on your trip

DH and I have been on a 4-night Fantasy and a 7-night Glory cruise and we enjoyed both of them immensely. We feel they offer a great vacation at a great price. Our Disney cruises were so much more expensive, and even the Royal Caribbean was as well and they weren't any "better" than what we experienced on Carnival. Carnival has great ships, wonderful food, terrific entertainment, etc. I'm not saying we'll never cruise another line besides Carnival, as we did enjoy our Mariner of the Seas cruise and I wouldn't mind trying Princess and Holland America as well. Disney is pretty much out, unless we were to cruise with our grandchildren, because we just can't see spending so much more money than Carnival. We have been extremely satisfied with what Carnival has to offer.

MY FAMILY AND I WILL BE SAILING THE MIRACLE IN MARCH AND ARE SOOOLOOKING FORWARD TO IT. PLEASE SHARE YOUR FAVS AND INSIGHTS ON THE MIRACLE. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!:) :)

I can't say enough good things about the ship. The crew is very good, the ship itself is very clean. The shows I felt were very good. Dr. Frankensein's lab is a gret place to take a picture of your group with Frankenstein. The Mad Hatter ball room is another room not to miss. The art work around the ship some don't like, I liked it. IMO its the best carnival ship I have been on yet. I hope to get back on the Miracle again soon, but in my heart I know its going to be a while. Try to do a search on here and take a look at some pictures. Have a great cruise Alex

We started with Carnival because of the military discount and the convenience, but we stay for the food, the relaxed atmosphere, that fabulous bedding, and the amazing experience you get for very little money (comparatively speaking). I didn't expect to enjoy cruising, but I've never had such a relaxing vacation and I am officially addicted for life, thanks to Carnival.

My wife and I have only been on RCCL and NCL. We have just booked the Splendor for next January and are very excited to try something new. Looking for input from some seasoned Carnival cruisers, what do you love about Carnival?

You will probably love the same things about Carnival that you enjoyed on RCCL and NCL. They are all mass market lines and except for the lower prices I find on Carnival....(based solely on the reviews I have read because all we have cruised is Carnival)...you can find a good or bad meal on any of them. You can find good or rude staff on any of them. You can find nice and not so nice people on all of them.

We have stayed with Carnival all these years mainly because they have always gone out of their way to care for our Special Needs child. (and karaoke) :D And I have not found anything on RCCL that tempts me to pay more money. I don't iceskate, climb walls or flowride. Now I LOVE RCCL no smoking in the cabins that they started this year and their Royal Promenade. I just don't love them enough to pay the extra money.

NCL is out for us because we can't Freestyle. We must eat at 5:45 at a private table for four with our special needs child and Carnival provides that for us.

The bottom line is just go and have a great time. Forget which cruise line you are on and enjoy the fact that you are on a cruise!!!

Price is the one thing I love next to the size of the cabins.

The BLT from room service is the best. Bet I ate 5 on our last cruise.

The entertainment is awesome.

The people you meet are the best.

The crews are extremely friendly.

The pizza is great to eat at 2am when you are done drinking and have the munchies.

The ice cream. YUMMMMMMMO

Oh yes these boards. All the inkformation we get from all those Carnival cruisers.

The adult hot tubs.....

I am sure there is much more but my head is not processing it right now.

Great food, Great service, Great value!!! The staff are always friendly and greet you with a smile. The cabins are spacious and the new bedding is so comfy. The other passengers are great - fun and down to earth - nobody goes around "putting on airs". There's lots to do, or you can do nothing at all if you choose to hang by the pool and enjoy the drink of the day. Go in with a positive attitude and I'm sure you'll have a terrific time.

Carnival is great, I love the cabin size, how nice the staff is and also the activities. It is a great cruise line. I have cruised NCL and its ok, but the cabins are smaller on NCL and even the brand new GEM was not as nice as Carnival

10. They have fried jumbo shrimp on the first night.

9. Carnival Dream Bed. 'nuff said!:p

8. Outstanding Room stewards who leave you chocalate and towel animals.

7. Rotating piano bars.

6. The entertainment is awesome - especially the two broadway style shows and the midnight comedians, bar bands, piano bar people, etc., etc.....;)

5. The tongue-in-cheek style of MOST of the CD's which I love (the lone exception DH)

4. Best looking captain ever - Claudio Cupisti !:D

3. Well trained dining room staff who caters to every need except for overpaid maitre' d who insists if no one tips him he doesn't get paid this week.

2. Scrapbooking at sea on a comfortable couch overlooking the ocean.

1. Cappacino pie the final dessert of the cruise!

In no particular order:

Aft wraparound balconies... (OK, that one IS number one)

Comfortable beds

Large cabins.

Friendly staff who always smile and say hello (I once tipped a room steward on the last morning that wasn't even ours. Every day when we saw her in the hallway should would smile, say hello, ask how our day was and even call us by name after we introduced ourselves... she had no reason to, but she really made us feel welcome. She even tried to refuse our tip, because she "hadn't done anything". She was wrong. She did plenty)

The cabins are so much bigger than RCCL. I know you aren't in there that much but when you are it is great. The food and service is better. I couldn't believe how long room service trays stayed in the hallways on our RCCL cruise on SOS. Like most of the day. I never smelled the stink in the public bathrooms on Carnival. I love the mini golf also.

I love the service, the 24 hr. pizza, best I have had so far on a cruise ship, the staff, and every thing else... Carnival Cruise Line has done a few things for me in the past that they didn't have to do. I have done other cruise lines and probably will try new cruise lines I haven't been on yet. But Carnival is always I think going to be my favorite.

I to will be going on Carnival Splendor in Dec 2008..... I can't wait either it will be my 1st NEW Carnival ship to go on.. :D

I haven't sailed another ,but from my experience plus what I have read,Carnival is more "inclusive". I mean you get more included with your ALREADY paid cruise without there being an additional charge.
