GIVE ME MY STARBUCKS AND MY ROLLERCOASTER - GENESIS what do you want?

Recommended Posts

I like the idea of the movie screen over the kids pool area.

I would also like to see a family type party one night near the H20 zone. I love how Disney parties it up on the deck at night. At the same time have an adult only party in the solarium. I just feel the the outdoors aren't utilized enough at night. It is like a ghost town around the ship.

I also LOVE the lazy river idea IF it was adults only. I could see the kids/teens over-running it and splashing and watering down my foo foo drink. :( Maybe at least have adult only hours here and there during the day.

I would like an outdoor BBQ restaurant with all the tables outside. Have good true BBQ food. It annoys me you can't eat outside anywhere on the voyager class ships.

I think for that size ship, they should have an enclosed adult solarium, the basic family pool area, a kids waterpark area slightly bigger then H20 and then another adult only pool near the AFT with a swim up bar. It is the fun adult pool area. Games, drinks, music but no kids. :D

I would also like to see more outdoor options for the kids club too.

Do I like the outdoors? ;)

I time FREE alternative dining per cruise per restaurant .Any more you pay !!!

Movies outdoors on big screen like MUTS-daily and nightly Classics would be fine

Food stations instead of buffet

More grill and BBQ at lunch ---ribs/ chicken /fish/grilled veggies

Nightly Dessert only late night buffet instead of regular weekly Grand buffet.

Free cappucinos/expressos at dinner

Star gazing sounds great. Telescopes

NONSMOKING lounges and casinos

Slightly bigger cabins

Luggage scales on decks to comply with airline limits could be put out on last day of cruise only

Best idea so far, a cantilevered lazy river...this is very good and just think how long it could be, could even "wrap" around the ship. This plus a swim up bar sounds like heaven to me.

yeah, that is kinda what i was thinking, i have only been on the mariner but i can envision a lazy river following on the outside of the jogging track(like i said partially overhanging the side of the ship and clear) but running the whole way around the ship, they could even bring it under the track (with a bridge for the track) and have it go over the promonade (sp?) and kind of gently curve around the ship around and over (or under ) different things to look at. Also like suggested you could have a float up bar out of the main current, if you did it right you could have the bar in the middle if the ship and have both sides of the lazy river feed into opposite sides of the bar ( to ease crowding you know?)....just an idea

Star gazing sounds great. Telescopes /quote]

Get over it folks, telescopes will never happen because the ship vibrates and moves. I have an 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain and even the dog walking on my wood deck where I stargaze giggles the image in my eyepiece. You will not be able to dampen the vibration enough to get a good image and the ship has to move from port to port so it won't stop, you won't be able to maintain an object in your field of view.

Sorry we have Sheetz in this part of PA and it puts all of the others to shame. ;) :p

And no movie screen? :( How about we put it over the H20 zone...lol. Yes I am grasping for straws here. ;)

Ok, Sheetz is pretty cool..........once you get past the name! ;)

(usually good prices at the pump, too)

That should be grounds for being thrown off the ship!

We can only dream of the day that a Royal Caribbean cruise ship has an amusement park on board. Till then, we can just let our imaginations run wild!

Looks great, but would you want a cabin below the roller coaster? Some people complain about deck chairs being moved around above them!

And a lazy river would be nice, but would likely take up too much space at the expense of other things. And the weight of the water alone might make the ship too top-heavy, especially if it is as long as it would have to be to accomodate all of the people that would want to float in it. Even if it went around the entire ship it might be as packed as the traffic here in Southern California.

I hope that the Genesis takes the wow factor of the Voyager class ships, but then combines it with the views of the ocean and open public spaces of the Radiance class. Hopefully it will be more than a floating shopping mall/Embassy Suites. :o

The lazy river sounds great. I think that would be awesome if it went around the whole ship.Or at least go around the flowrider. I saw that on a website for flowriders and it didn't seem to take up that much space. Anyone know how to build a ship? We can all put our request in and then have it built to our likings. Kinda like the game Cruise Tycoon. We can all build what we want on the game and then have someone build it in reality for us. Now that would be awesome. My mind is wandering with ideas of what I would love on the ship. Can't wait for the 15th to see what they are going to reveal about the Genesis.

Some wild dreams: Rollar Coaster and Lazy River, oh and how about a revolving viking crown lounge.

Some not so wild dreams: Updated menus including desserts, but keep some of the favorites. Movies under the stars, free cappucinos at dinner, and I'll think of more.

I'm voting for the lazy river, too.

Also, wouldn't one of those no-edge pools off of the stern be awesome? Of course, it would have an edge so you couldn't fall off...:D

Also, how about a fold dow sports platform? Why do the small ships only have them?

All you lazy river loves might get your wish! Here take a look there is a flow rider that includes a lazy river! Maybe Royal Caribbean will have it run from the pool to the flowrider????

lazyriver_large.jpg

I saw that on the company's site back when freedom launched. I can't beleave I forgot about it. That would be perfect because it adds no extra power requirements. For anyone that doesn't know, the way that it works is that the water flowing from the FlowRider actually creates the current in the lazy river and then when it hits the end of the lazy river it goes back into the FlowRider.
