Cabin selection help please

Recommended Posts

Hi

we took our first cruise last February - LOVED IT !!!

we are planning for next February - would like your thoughts on lower decks

For our first cruise we were on Deck 2 near the back of the ship -there was no problem with movement or noise & vibration from the engine.

Were we just lucky? or is this true on most ships. we do not spend enough time in our cabin to spend a lot of $$ rather save it for excursions and drinks

I welcome your comments.

If you're happy with an inside cabin, low is great! (less motion!) You were lucky in the sense that seas weren't rough! But, most ship's lower decks have the least amount of motion. If that "floats your boat", do it again!

We have had oceanviews on deck 2 on Enchantment, Sovereign and Explorer, all in middle or front. We loved them all. The only issue we have had was on Enchantment. That cabin was near the bow, above the anchor. When they dropped anchor in the morning, you could hear it. We've never been near the back so I can't comment on engine noise.
