friday109 Posted June 30, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2008 Hi we took our first cruise last February - LOVED IT !!! we are planning for next February - would like your thoughts on lower decks For our first cruise we were on Deck 2 near the back of the ship -there was no problem with movement or noise & vibration from the engine. Were we just lucky? or is this true on most ships. we do not spend enough time in our cabin to spend a lot of $$ rather save it for excursions and drinks I welcome your comments. cb at sea Posted June 30, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2008 If you're happy with an inside cabin, low is great! (less motion!) You were lucky in the sense that seas weren't rough! But, most ship's lower decks have the least amount of motion. If that "floats your boat", do it again!
alexkrn46 Posted June 30, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 30, 2008 What ship were you on? I agree if you did well once before I don't see any down side.
friday109 Posted June 30, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted June 30, 2008 Thankx for your reply we had an ocean view last time, and plan to have the same again this time - just wondered if anyone has experience with engine noise near the back of the ship? cruiseguy1016 Posted July 1, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 1, 2008 We have had oceanviews on deck 2 on Enchantment, Sovereign and Explorer, all in middle or front. We loved them all. The only issue we have had was on Enchantment. That cabin was near the bow, above the anchor. When they dropped anchor in the morning, you could hear it. We've never been near the back so I can't comment on engine noise.
