Janey....we're staying on the front end of your B2B on the Breeze in January in a similar cabin that you'll be in on your Magic cruise, in 2211. Feel free to stop by or leave a note in our mailbox near the door and we'll answer any questions that you may have and give you our opinion of the cabin.

I'll definitely get in touch. We're in 6320 on that cruise and we can usually be found at the casino bar in the evening.

Could anyone comment on the comfort of the convertable sofa, compared to the wonderful Carnival beds? Thanks!

I've never slept on one that is made into a bed, but I have just napped on one. They are not quite as comfy as the beds and are much firmer but it was a good nap...

We have had a terrible time with our current booking... but now that I just read through all 31 pages of this thread, I see we are definitely not the only ones!!

We are cruising on the Breeze April 21st. This is my 11th cruise; I've never had any problems with bookings until this one.

When we booked: I clicked on "upper/lower (porthole)" when selecting our room. After we booked, I went back and just started researching online... apparently neither rooms 2203 or 2207 actually HAVE portholes! Though Carnival's site said they did. I called, and the man told me they did not. I asked to be moved. He said, I'll put you in these 2 rooms next to each other, and they do have portholes. Great! So we hang up, I log onto my account... and he put our 2 rooms on 2 different decks!! And one room STILL didn't have portholes! So I called back (I'm sorry, I know this post is long) and spoke to a woman. She was working with us for almost an hour trying to find us two rooms next to each other that were what we booked: upper/lower and porthole. Apparently that doesn't even exist??? She told us we could have a true "upper/lower" or a porthole room with one bed and a sofa.

I'm mainly irritated that Carnival's site is so misleading!! But like I said, apparently we are not the first people to come across this!! I'm just thankful that I figured this out before we got to our room!

We are now in rooms 2211 and 2217. Does anyone have pictures of these rooms? I know the ship is relatively new, so it's difficult to find many pictures. Any insight would be appreciated though. =) I would just like to make sure the rooms DO have portholes.

Thanks, everyone :D And thanks for starting this thread; It's great!!

First of all...calm down, everything is OK. As you can see from the previous post, 2217 has two portholes. 2211 is set up the exact same way as 2217, except the cabin is flipped, meaning the closets, tv, etc are on the left side and the bathroom and sofa bed are on the right side. I know this for 100% fact because I slept there for 6 nights last week, we were on the Breeze from 1/13-19. The sofa bed was always set up as a bed for our entire cruise, it wasn't set up like a sofa as it is in the previous pics posted. The sofa bed is a bit harder than the regular bed, so whoever likes it harder between the two of you should sleep there, no pun intended.

Depending upon how the person who is going to sleep on the sofa bed should determine which cabin you choose, IMHO. If the person sleeps on their left side, choose 2211, if they sleep on their right side, choose 2217. I say this because then they will be looking into the cabin instead of the wall when they sleep and it is also easier to just slide out of bed to use the facilities in the middle of the night instead of having to flip over. I know it's just a matter of semantics, but it just makes sense to me. Good luck and have a great cruise....we sure did. I'll be posting a review in a few days.

Another Breeze related question

I am also looking at the 1A cabin upper lower porthole 1212. My concern is with the upper lower bunk (and supposedly sofa and table) with two people can you ask the Stewart that you would like to sleep on sofa. Since its not a sofa bed I'm wonder can it be done.

Any pictures would be helpful.

We have had the 1A cabins on the Fantasy on Empress and Main decks. We have them bring in a roll-a-way. The head boards of both beds are against the wall and the beds are put together to make a queen. Beds are the same height and its just like any other cabin with two beds put together. There's not a lot of floor space but who cares about that.

Quick question about the 1As on Riviera on Fantasy-class ships...

Looking at the deck plans, there's "white space" next to just about every cabin (I'm looking at the ones mid-ship - R50 - R66 on Fantasy but assume the others are the same).

My DD had a cabin next to what turned out to be a crew door. The door slamming started very early in the morning.

Does anyone know if these white spaces are "just" linen closets or if the big one between R56 and R58 is a crew stairwell/door?

Never mind. I booked R60 but then I read the posts about the 1As on Upper and Empress aft (I use that hallway on Empress to cut through and up the back stairs to Serenity), so switched to one back there.

Any photos? I saw the diagram of U173. Interesting layout. Still looks better than the 1A I had on Triumph (1402) that seemed really tiny, but those sideways cabins with no hallway make good use of the space.

Has anyone stayed in Room 9359 on the Magic? I Just found out my Mom booked this room and I'm concerned with the Elevators being right there.

That does look like a interesting choice. I choose a 1A with port holes on this ship, so have not stayed in this cabin. My experience with elevators is they are pretty well insulated.. I did hear the ding faintly once.. so thats possible where this cabin is. But I dont think you will hear elevator noises from the actual going up and down.

Thanks for the information, I will let my Mom know and let her decide if she wants to stay or move to another location. We are on the Lido deck but she was afraid of the movement, she's always stayed in a interior room in the middle and normally on the lower decks.

This is a really cool thread - I love the porthole 1A's because I like to cruise solo from time to time, and these are wonderfully spacious for a solo. Sure, I give up the big bed, but there's so much more moving-around room that it can be nice to actually spend some time in them - and the portholes are very nautical.

Next up for me is a Main Deck porthole 1A on Splendor.

Happy sailing to all!

Anybody have a pic of E-185 on Elation? Leaving May 23.

Please and thank you!

I'm next door next week. I'll post a pic when I return.

I'm curious to see if these cabins are like the 4A sideways cabins on Upper. I had U99 on Fascination. Hated it (mostly due to some weird "whumping" air pressure sort of throbbing that was coming from some sort of machinery somewhere). I don't think there was any way that cabin was 185 sq ft.

The diagram shown earlier (post 540) looks very much like that cabin except, being a 4A, we had the beds in the "L" configuration (no bunk).

Breeze Cabin 2211, a 1A porthole with a sofa and twin bed. Pictures hosted on Google Plus: https://plus.google.com/photos/105022769033398120207/albums/5874975507117267297?authkey=CJrKgbCdocLKpwE

Being all the way forward and on the outside, I did hear the waves when they hit the side of the ship. Sometimes it even caused the cabin the vibrate a little. But I had no problem sleeping through it. Every now and again a wave would hit with a little force and it would feel like someone was shaking me. The noises as we were docking did wake me up some mornings, but if I didn’t need to be getting up anyway, I could probably have fallen back to sleep. I got used to it and even slept through the docking noises as we returned to Miami.

I was in 2212 on the Breeze last November - never had any issues with waves sounds or vibration - loved the cabin (check out pics in Breeze review - see link below near signature) :)

Hi Froufie and everyone else!

I'm still on the road. Actually, still in Charleston and won't be home until Sunday night. Can't upload my pics until then.

But E183 is quite small. Great cabin for a solo. Good location, although the teens decided to use that hallway as a cut-through to who-knows-where and ran yelling up and down a few times.

And people did tend to come out of elevators and stand there bellowing to each other (a common complaint of mine on every cruise).

But I'd definitely book one again when solo.

Bow PH cabins? Read my Glory to Bermuda review thread (cabin 2217, which I booked mostly because Froufie loves those cabins so much, so blame her :p). The banging of the waves on the hull on that one woke me up several times on consecutive nights returning from Bermuda to Norfolk. Very loud BANG, then several strong shakes.

Guess it just depends on how the seas are on any given sailing. But it was a great cabin, other than that. Got lots of exercise hoofing it from bow to stern several times a day!

Welcome back Joan - hope you had a fabulous time - in fact some of my Breeze TA friends just boarded when you disembarked (and yes I was invited along but couldn't make it :()....that would have been fun to pass each other on the gangway? LOL

I also hate it when people are so rude to either stand outside your cabin at night and chat - or yell at each other down the hallways - do they not realize THEY ARE NOT ALONE???

Good location. Occasional teens running down the hall and it was a little close to the stairwell/elevator bank and the noise came right down the hallway. Very convenient to the back semi-secret stairway right up to Serenity Deck and also to the Jubilee Dining Room and Promenade Deck.

It was very, very rough the first night out and there was a lot of motion back there. I had to get up and use the inserts from the FunTimes to stuff around the bunk to keep it from rattling so loudly.

I'd book back there again, but it is quite small.
