How's this for what Carnival did to me...

 

I am getting ready to get packed for my cruise 9/14 on the Miracle. I checked on the Carnival web site for my cruise details, and I saw that I was upgraded at no cost to a balcony stateroom from an OS obstructed view! Now the luggage tags they sent me are worthless, I have to go and print new ones.

 

Can I do anything about this? :D

Absolutely, have Carnival reimburse you for the extra ink costs and for your time, not to mention the engery you used to get to your computer!!!

If you don't want to or have time to print new luggage tags, they usually have them at the terminal. If I paid for an OS cabin and was upgraded to a balcony at no additional charge, I would be jumping up and down for joy. I always book a balcony and would love to be upgraded to a Suite at the last minute. I would print the new luggage tags in a heartbeat. Enjoy your trip.

Just wanted to lighten things up a bit :) Can't believe all the people that answered this. Yes, I can print the tags, carry the bags myself, go without any luggage, who cares! Was just kidding here, so many really lame complaints I figured luggage tags was about where we were all headed next anyway.

 

I am jumping for joy. Never dreamed I'd ever see a balcony in my life.

Same thing happened to me! I had an OV booked on the Sensation...and darn those people, they called me 6 days, yes I said 6 days, before my cruise to tell me they upgraded me to a cat 12 suite at no cost! The nerve of them....

I only had 6 days before I cruise and they changed it. Not to say, it was also the first balcony for my daughter, NOW she is addicted even more...what have they done to her??? ;)

Have a good time on your cruise! I'm sure being an experienced cruiser, and not being a giant crybaby, you'll be happy wherever they take you. Whether they let you know where your next port will be before they leave the first one. Whether the Captain gets on the PA system and talks to you like you're a naughty schoolgirl. Whether you get horrifying service. Whether you ever see a single island at all.

 

Because you're a better, more spiritually evolved, more content person then those spoiled babies.

 

And if Carnival does screw you over, I'm sure you won't come here to b!tch about it - you'll just soldier on without ever consulting an attorney. Because that's what grownups do.

Boy would I be upset. You should form a group on the ship and lead a protest.

Thank you, you are SO right! Just get me on the ship because that's the vacation for me. An 8 day cruise to nowhere sounds about heaven. This will be my second time on the Miracle and I believe my 9th cruise.

 

Not much chance we'll actually go to Grand Turk. Way too much damage there, injuries, so many homes destroyed, people struggling to go on with life. Don't think they have the time or energy for entertaining a bunch of spoiled tourists. We'll see where we wind up.

 

I hope all those people are OK. I live in upstate NY. All we got here was some rain and medium winds. Ruined my picnic, but those poor people down there lost just about everything. And most of them had less to start than I do.

 

I don't know if it would even be a good thing to go to damaged areas while people are rebuilding their lives....

 

But I digress.

 

The Miracle was the BEST I've ever sailed on. Beautiful ship. pampering service, delicious food, great shows, just give me smooth waters and sunshine.... I'm good to go.

I would cancel immediately. I wouldn't let them push me into a balcony room. I would be suspicious! :D

Ruined my picnic
After you cancel your cruise, you will have plenty of time to prepare your lawsuit. I would add the fact that a has been hurricane ruined you pre-cruise picnic. I'm sure Carnival is responsible for this some how. They seem to know weather patterns better than us! I would demand a free cruise, with absolutely no upgrades.

 

Now on a serious note, enjoy your cruise. You will be spoiled with that balcony! Ports won't even make a difference. Several cruises we haven't got off the ship. Its great you have the whole ship to yourselves. No lines. Faster service. ENJOY:)
