DizzyDallasDi Posted December 9, 2008 #16 Share Posted December 9, 2008 Tamarind is such a fabulous restaurant with the best food and service on board. I highly suggest that all who are traveling on the Eurodam take advantage of this no-charge cuisine and ambience before HAL comprehends what they've created and starts charging for it. Believe me, Tamarind is not to be missed! Search this board...you won't find a single post that says anything negative about it. Diane

Koshlong Posted December 9, 2008 #21 Share Posted December 9, 2008 I haven't been on the Eurodam, but I've been reading and drooling over posts about it since the launching. I believe there is a surcharge ($15?) for dinner, but lunch is free. I imagine the lunch menu isn't quite so extravagant?
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 9, 2008 Author #22 Share Posted December 9, 2008 Yonnie, I take it they call this the Rijsttafel? Trail of Spices Satay Sampler - Malaysian-spiced lamb, Chinese pork, Thai -spiced beef, Indonesian-spiced chicken & Vietnamese-spiced shrimp served with Asian pickled vegetables & 2 traditional dipping sauces Yes John -- it is a sample to get people to try the Rijsttafel and hopefully book it -- usually at 7 PM -- some nights several people signed up for it -- other nights -- no one. Most people want to try as much as possible on the regular menu.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 9, 2008 Author #23 Share Posted December 9, 2008 1. Can you eat here every night? PLEASE! Yes -- if you make reservations.2. Is there an extra charge? How much? It is presently $15 per person. 3. Is it on other ships or planned for other ships? It will be on the Nieuw Amsterdam when she comes out in 2010. I asked it was possible to add the Tamarind to the Vista class ships. Sadly -- it can't be done because of the weight of adding this restaurant -- the present ships just can't take on all that extra weight.
