macleay Posted November 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2004 We leave on our cruise Nov 27. We booked a Guar mini-suite a couple of months ago. Last time we cruised, it seems like we got our room number at least 1-1/2 months prior to the cruise. I still don't have a room number. Is this typical, or should I check with Princess? Thanks, Jill
Nitemare Posted November 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2004 Guarantee rooms might be assigned a year in advance (and then changed one or more times), or they might not be assigned until a week before you cruise. It's all part of the game, enjoy!
Pam in CA Posted November 9, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2004 Or, the cabin will be assigned when you get to embarkation. There's no hard and fast "rule" as to when you'll be assigned a cabin.
WeBeGone Posted November 9, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2004 It doesn't hurt to call your TA, or if you booked direct, Princess. The worst that they can say is that you haven't been assigned yet.
macleay Posted November 10, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted November 10, 2004 Thanks for your replies. I guess I won't worry then. I was judging from last year when I got them much earlier! Jill
hurwitz5 Posted November 10, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 10, 2004 We booked a GTY room for the Canada/New England cruise about 7 weeks prior to sailing. We got a cabin assignment (found on Princess Cruise Personalizer) on the Tuesday or Wednesday prior to sailing. BTW, we did not receive an upgrade. Rare KKB Posted November 10, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 10, 2004 We got our cabin the day before embarkation w/ upgrade--JJ inside to D outside w/ nice big window! Someone else's nameplate/gifts were actually in the room when we got there! Guess they got an upgrade, too! Kristin
macleay Posted November 17, 2004 Author #8 Share Posted November 17, 2004 Got our room--D505 which is an AA room--I looked at a map of the ship and this looks like a good room. Not that there's ANY bad rooms as long as we're cruising! Jill
Rare Coral Posted November 17, 2004 #9 Share Posted November 17, 2004 Jill - That is a pretty good location for your room. Enjoy!
skarletohara Posted November 17, 2004 #10 Share Posted November 17, 2004 Booked a guarantee just 2 weeks ago for a cruise in Feb. and alas, have received a cabin number already! Went from a GG to an FF (both obstructed views) Hoping for a further upgrade. Last guarantee we booked the cruise 5 months out and did not receive our cabin assignment until after final payment. That was from an AD to an AA And the guarantee last year was a BB and we found out only 10 days before that we were getting a VS!
