Aplmac Posted March 25, 2014 Author #426 Share Posted March 25, 2014 I think that looks very good! Resolution and sharpness look good on the 32” monitor. The out of focus areas do fall apart as they should. Color saturation is quite good, too. The thing that amazes me is that it appears so steady even being hand held. I can’t explain that except it must have to do with the extreme wide angle lens (apx 24mm?). I think mine came with an underwater housing that I took off, but I may try that, too when we come back next January. If I get some “good” video (first person crash video!) with this thing I‘ll post to this thread of yours for a professional critique. :) I'm not sure what resolution I shot that garden at. I fool around with different settings all the time. Perhaps I should just stick to 1080, and vary the fps only, relevant to lighting conditions? Lack of jiggle movement is largely due to YouTube who kindly offers(soon after Upload) to fix any jiggle -and they seem to do a marvellous job!! Look for a blue banner across the page, showing the offer to fix I'm fairly sure your GoPro came with a housing. I keep mine in its housing all the time. . Aplmac Posted March 30, 2014 Author #427 Share Posted March 30, 2014 (edited) By the way there's a new -and more showy- way to post your YouTube videos on these CruiseCritic message boards -so a thumbnail picture shows (not just a boring URL link) Details here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2011911 ____________________________ To illustrate what a difference it makes to the viewer here's the same clip I posted in Post # 424 above kmEDehcNvzc . barbados Posted April 1, 2014 #429 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Excellent! So much better than the ubiquitous link. Thanks for letting us know about this new option. Looking forward to more of your GoPro Hero3+ videos! One of these days I’ll maybe get one good enough to post, too. :)
Aplmac Posted April 1, 2014 Author #430 Share Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) Excellent! So much better than the ubiquitous link. ===> Except it shows kinda "mini"... Looking forward to more of your GoPro Hero3+ videos! One of these days I’ll maybe get one good enough to post, too. :) I've been fooling around with the GoPro suction-cup mounton the inside surface of the car's windshield. Quite by luck yesterday afternoon, I got a nice bit of sunny footage driving the Arthur Seat road between the new Welches Roundabout and the bottom of Shop Hill. It's nothing spectacular,of course but for those who might be curious about average driving conditions on average Barbados roads, you could gain some insight? KgJCp2wWwxE . cruiseathon Posted April 1, 2014 #431 Share Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) Here's my picture of another memorable sight in Barbados. The enormous Boabab tree in Queen Elizabeth Park, Bridgetown. I took the bus over, so my trip started where the video ends. The water wasn't as soupy that day. Definitely a dramatic shoreline.

2PinaColadas Posted May 12, 2014 #438 Share Posted May 12, 2014 I keep tellin y'allyou need to schedule a week here... :D There an awful lot to see and do on this one little Barbados island. It's not like the others.. . So, we took your advice. No cruise next year, we are going to BARBADOS!! We are staying at a condo in the Accra/Rockley area. Can you recommend an island tour company? I love to take pictures, so preferably the most picturesque tour. And my husband is scuba diving--can you recommend a good dive shop? He would like to see the wrecks. Thanks. The boulders along the coast are quite photogenic.

Elliott0821 Posted May 21, 2014 #441 Share Posted May 21, 2014 I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction, We are looking for a nice beach that’s calm, one person in our group is a little nervous around water and we are trying to get her to enjoy the beauty that is Barbados. We have no problem taking a taxi so I guess what we need to know is what beach you would recommend some of us do snorkel and I would love to see some turtles... Is there anything in walking distance or any information about how to get a good beach? We will be traveling in September if that makes a difference. Thanks for your help
aimodels Posted May 23, 2014 #442 Share Posted May 23, 2014 Carlisle Bay is your best bet. It's close to port, the water is calm, and there are a lot of locals around with boats willing to take you out to the turtles. Cheers, P:)
Aplmac Posted January 16, 2015 Author #443 Share Posted January 16, 2015 . Travel To Be Free Posted August 6, 2015 #445 Share Posted August 6, 2015 Where is best place to get dropped off to at Hastings Beach to be close to the Coconut Court Beach Hotel? The beach looks beautiful with all the palms. Do they rent loungers there or are they just for hotel guests? Then if we want the most picture-perfect spot for lunch, would you chose Tapas on Hastings or walk the Boardwalk to Rockley and go to Champers? We love good food with perfect views. Had also considered Holetown Bay and going to The Tides.... not sure if Hometown Bay has a lot of palms and/or loungers for rent??? So appreciate any help!! h-sar Posted February 15, 2016 #446 Share Posted February 15, 2016 Aplmac, thank you so much for this absolutely stunning and highly informative thread that you started over 7 years ago! We are considering an island tour and then would like to ask the driver to take us to a beach for about an hr or so at the end ( we have 6 stops on this itinerary and so have many full beach days planned at some of the other stops). What beach would you recommend that will give us the best overview of a truly beautiful Bahamian beach with clear waters, not a party atmosphere, some shade, good for a quick dip. Rockley? Somewhere else? Also how far a drive is Rockley from the port? Everyone else, with experience at these beaches, please chime in as well. Thank you! Clipsy01 Posted February 18, 2016 #448 Share Posted February 18, 2016 Really enjoyed looking at all the pics over the years posted here. Wife and I along with her 5 yr old will be visiting in Oct. of this year. If this is the only time we ever get to go and visit this lovely location where and what should we do? Family friendly, safe but not boring is what we are looking for...calm waters, nice uncrowded beach with some shade and some good snorkeling for me :)
