What is the biggest thing you ever won on a ship?

A couple of years ago I met up with an old friend that I hand't seen in 20 years. I finally convinced him to go on a group cruise I had planned and he reluctantly went having never even considered cruising before.

On the first day, I showed him how to use the slot machines and after my $5 of training money was gone I left him in the casino.

Later at dinner when asked how he was enjoying himself, he pulled out a wad of cash from his pocket - over $900- and said "pretty good".

The next morning at breakfast we were all talking about what we had done the night before he pulled out another wad of cash - over $400 this time.

Later in the cruise we found him at the casino again (an addict is now born) after winning another $500!.

At the end of the cruise I asked him if he like cruising and he said it was good but too expensive since he had put all of his winnings back into the machines.

I couldn't count casino wins, as its up and down, up and down. I know DH hit four kings in table hold-em, and with the bonus it was a really nice payout. But we gave it all back I'm sure.

Anyway, tangibles... we won a beach towel on our last NCL trip. DH came in second in the black jack tourny on our first HAL cruise. That was good for a t-shirt and dinner for two at the Pinnicle grill. We traded the dinner for 3rd place's champegne b/c it was the last night, we were already schedule to go to the Pinnacle, and it was paid for by our TA.

I won about $300 on last night in casino -- hubby & kids were tired and went to sleep, I was bored and wide awake so I took my last $$ and turned into $300. My cousin's daughter won a trip for 2 playing Slots for another cruise a few months later that was a Slots Cruise -- not sure of which cruise line -- they had a blast, my cousin and his wife came in top 15th place, their daughter came in 8th place. Not bad considering they go one cabin for 2 free for the week. She just went on another cruise in February for her 40th birthday and I'm trying to talk her into coming on our upcoming cruise in July.

Last year I won a total of $5500 on three different slot jackpots. I won 2000 on the Conquest in Feb. 1000 on the Valor in May, and 2500 on the Glory in August.

Prior to that I had only won 300-400 per cruise. Sister won the free cruise playing Bingo in 2001, so we sailed in a Cat 12 for free in 2002.

A few years back we were on a rci cruise. My DH was 13 and wanted to play bingo but no one wanted to play with her. I felt bad for her and took her to play. We won nothing!!! As we were leaving they began to call the numbers for the door prize. We kept walking out as the numbers were being called. We stopped at the exit because so far we had most of the numbers. We had the winning numbers when they had finished and our prize was the week in the owners cabin! We went from the four of us in one cabin to a two bedroom, two bath suite with a livingroom and massive balcony on the top floor on the direct back of the boat!

I won a cruise with the pull tickets on the final cruise of my favorite ship. Unfortunately I had to take it on the parent line. That was my cruise from hell. To me it wasn't even worth the taxes I paid.

:o I guess my bottle of champagne for the Best Sunburn doesn't really match with all of you. :o

Yeah, I guess the totebag with the ship's logo, and $20 at the slots that I won are pretty weak too!

The DH, however, won $300 at the slots once with a $.25 spin. It was the last $.25 we had. We were young and didn't have any money, we didn't even know about tipping, we thought all inclusive meant all inclusive, we were so clueless! This was back in 1971 so that $300 was a load of cash to us!:D The DH was only 18 and I was 24. Yeah, I'm a cougar!:D
