What is the biggest thing you ever won on a ship?

On my first cruise (on Carnival), my bf and I won a solid gold plated ship on a stick for winning tv tune trivia. It's on the shelf to my left in our living room. The funny thing is that there was a bonus song, which was the theme from the Love Boat. A lot of people didn't know it.

On my last cruise, I was on the winning team for Scene It TV, but we didn't get anything. The same day, I was on a team that tied for first place in tv music, but we didn't win the tiebreaker.

I stay away from bingo and the casino as I don't think I'm all that lucky. In fact, whenever I enter a contest, I usually win a prize that I don't want, not the one I do.

On the Star transatlantic, won a nice piece of artwork..........during art auction.................then on the Island Panama Canal.............won $500 in the slot tournament. Two win out of 20 cruises...................odds low but the cruises themselves are winners in my book.................sailinsal

$4000 on one hand of "Let It Ride" on the Golden in August of 2001. Straight Flush. My husband was playing it for the first time. He got four-of-a-kind three times and was insisting it was an "easy" game. I never saw that dealer for the rest of the cruise.

On our latest cruise I won $1300 on quarter slots on the Sea Princess.

My first cruise, I won the Princess Pop Star contest (karaoke) and won a reversible tote bag, bottle of champagne, box of Godiva chocolates, and Princess travel alarm clock. Pretty nice price!

My latest one out last year, I won some $300 in slots, and $250 in bingo! It basically paid for my onboard expenses, and I even came home with money! :D

On our trip to Hawaii on Celebrity's Summit in 2006 I won about $1400 at 3 card poker during the whole trip. I might have won more but when I doubled the $100 I started with I walked away.

I also shared in the big Bingo prize on the last night for $1735 for my share. With what my DH won in the casino, we came home w/more pocket money than we left with. My cousins who were also on that cruise said that I should just re-book and keep going since I was so lucky.

One of my cousins won $2700 on RCCL playing Caribbean Stud Poker when she had a straight flush and played the bonus dollar. It was 10% of the running total for all ships for that bonus pot.

Haven't repeated my luck since. Just luggage tags and a travel alarm clock on Princess.

I wanted the dealer to open so I could get the maiximum payout on my hand.

She turned over 4 Jacks looked at me and apologized. She didn't have to, I had 4 Queens!

I had made a decent bet and had paid the bonus dollar bet, so the payout was in the high 4 figures.

I then did the smartest thing I have ever done. I went back to the room, woke up my wife, took her to the jewelry store and bought that diamond/tanzanite ring she had been gawking at.

I then bought myself a drink and stayed away from the casino for the rest of the cruise!

She decided to keep me after that cruise and all the great ones we have taken since!

With only 198 days at sea we won the second-most-cruised passenger on our Canada/New England cruise. The one and only time so far. Then on a TA I won Swarovski crystal ornaments that they gave away in a drawing at the end of the cruise. Those were the best. The rest are just the usual cheap ship prizes playing trivia.

On the Crown we were in a fashion show and won a sweater and came in 2nd place in the Newlywed game = bottle of champainge and tote bag and DW in the talent contest won a trophy. Trivia winnings include PRINCESS travel coffee mugs, key chains, travel alarm clocks, bathroom travel bags and HAL coffee mug. Never won in the casino or bingo - maybe we should try harder next cruise.

On the Regal years ago I wone $1,250 on a 25 cent slot playing the maximum 3 credits (this with a nightly spending budget of $50).

A few years ago on the Sea Princess over 10 days won over $500 on each of 4 different nights - again on a 25 cent slot with my nightly budget of $50.

Last September on HAL's Eurodam won $3,000 on a dollar slot. Had increased my nightly budget to $100!

Only get to gamble usually on one trip a year and usually break even if not a bit ahead. Pretty lucky.

On my very first cruise with RCL my dh and I had booked an interior room. We decided to play Bingo and I won the Jackpot ..."The Owners Suite". After only one night aboard in a tiny, crowded interior room; we moved into a very roomy, luxurious suite and were very spoiled for the remainder of the cruise. We had a living room, dining area, double balcony, large bath with a shower and jacuzzi tub... WOW! The works! What an awesome way to celebrate my 40th birthday. :)

The only thing I have won was last November. I played pool golf. The person with the most shots that stuck to the floating green won. I'm not a golfer but I like mini golf and I beat out at least 20 people most of them golfers. I won a baseball hat the says " I'm a winner" and a "drink of the day". The drink was the reason I played in the first place.

  • 1 month later...
I won $4000 (16,000 quarters) on a .25 Slot machine on Carnival Facination playing Treasure Tunnel, and I got a wG9 from Carnival indicating I had to claim it on my taxes which I thought was unfair since we were in International waters.

I took a cruise to Mexico last October on the Star. They had a lecture on what jewerly to buy in Mexico. After the lecture they had a drawing. I won a diamond worth a couple hundred dollars. The bad news was that my wife was there so I could not use it for a Christmas present.

Back in the day when bingo was a real game on a cruise ship, it was progressive with great cash prizes (1/2 the revenue taken in on that game - the other half went towards the grand prize during jackpot bingo at the end of the cruise).... "Cards" were paper and numbers punched out. Cost was 2.00 each or 3 for 5.00.

The biggie was at the end of the week...the last night. They'd play regular bingo until the last game....then it was a cover-all.... This grand prize was paid in cash..if there was more than one winner, the cash was shared equally.

I won over 4000.00 in cold hard cash....alone......

That was the biggest.. But I also won several smaller pots like 500.00, 250.00 and once split a 2000.00 jackpot.

I don't play anymore.....it's too expensive and the prizes bite. Give me cash, please.....
