Himself Posted April 11, 2009 #29 Share Posted April 11, 2009 I also notice that the ROTTERDAM will be doing 7 day cruises out of Seattle and will be hitting Hubbard Glacier rather than Glacier Bay. I do prefer Glacier Bay.
RuthC Posted April 11, 2009 #30 Share Posted April 11, 2009 It's the first time I can recall any Alaskan cruise by one of the major lines that offered this length and didn't have the inconvenience of guests embarking/debarking half way through the trip. My first Alaska cruise (1990) was a 14-day round-trip out of Vancouver on Royal Viking Line. We went to Homer and Seward, but not to Kodiak and Anchorage. There were seven ports in the 14 days, plus Glacier Bay and Hubbard Glacier both! It was spectacular and turned me on to Alaska as a favorite itinerary. Krazy Kruizers Posted April 11, 2009 #31 Share Posted April 11, 2009 Our first Alaskan cruise was in 1989 -- 14 days out of San Francisco on the original Princess -- we even to places like Port Hardy -- did quite a few ports.
Krazy Kruizers Posted April 11, 2009 #32 Share Posted April 11, 2009 I also notice that the ROTTERDAM will be doing 7 day cruises out of Seattle and will be hitting Hubbard Glacier rather than Glacier Bay. I do prefer Glacier Bay. JMO -- having been to both several times -- but we have seen more spectacular calving at Hubbard and the ice there is bluer.
