BIG_Steve Posted April 29, 2009 #27 Share Posted April 29, 2009 I don't know who you talked to' date=' but they are seriously wrong. The Sky is in drydock in the Grand Bahama Shipyard. Check out her web cam and see for yourself. PE[/quote']
travelteach326 Posted April 30, 2009 #28 Share Posted April 30, 2009 James, How long will she be in drydock? Will she be back in action for June 5 cruise? Thanks!
Don Haynes Posted April 30, 2009 #29 Share Posted April 30, 2009 The Sky is missing two weeks of schedule on her itineraries. She should be back for your cruise looking "like new". Hopefully their attempt to fix her aft sewer smells are successful. That is currently the biggest complaint. Maybe they will spray her with the new car smell as well.... hunterjackson Posted April 30, 2009 #30 Share Posted April 30, 2009 Goodness. After Sewer Smells, I had no idea. I am now thinking about switching around my cabin for our Oct 12th trip. Where are the sewer smells most obvious on the ship? Hunter Jackson
numberguy Posted April 30, 2009 #31 Share Posted April 30, 2009 I think Don wrote "aft sewer smells," meaning sewer smells on the aft (back end) of the ship. Probably problematic for those with aft balcony cabins. --Michael
Don Haynes Posted April 30, 2009 #32 Share Posted April 30, 2009 A large part of this dry dock is to address and fix this..... Hopefully they are successful.....

Yes, NCL has done a great job overcoming the aft smell issue in the past, but they will attempt with this dry dock to fix the problem once and for all, and be done with it. ottawapuppy Posted May 1, 2009 #36 Share Posted May 1, 2009 Big Steve stated on another post that the Sky was in dry dock right now. Cool. That gives us another reason to go back on that ship. (To see what is new). Mike

bentleys mom Posted May 3, 2009 #38 Share Posted May 3, 2009 Hey there Bentley's Mom, we'll be on that same sailing leaving May 11th. Hoping for good things! I was starting to wonder if anyone else from here was going to be on that sailing, nobody ever responded to the roll call. We're hoping for good things too! Do you know which dining venues require men to wear jackets?

Resort casual is always welcomed at every restaurant and dining room aboard NCL every day. NCL has embraced resort casual. If you wish to dress up to the nines, you are welcome to any night you wish. bentleys mom Posted May 3, 2009 #41 Share Posted May 3, 2009 Thanks for the quick responses. My DH and my friend's DH didn't want to bring a suit but I wanted to make sure. We leave for FL on Friday morning and I'm almost ready to start counting the minutes ...

jandtb Posted May 7, 2009 #45 Share Posted May 7, 2009 My DH and I will be there too on the 11th - we're really excited since it's our first cruise! I'm assuming it's even better (??) it's been in dry dock so we'll be able to experience the new additions/changes.
BOARDTALKER Posted May 7, 2009 #46 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Hi Daisyba6y, Search and ye did find! I am impressed by your extensive research and your panoramic photo of the 'Sky' in the beautiful Bahamas. You get to see her first after her extreme makeover and never thought that she needed a face lift, by any stretch! What a glorious ship! Count me in as I notice that you are as well as I are still counting the days and that's all that need be said. Regards, BOARDTALKER.

She wasn't docked all that long. But I'd sure like someone who experiences the before and after to write a review.

BikerAl Posted May 10, 2009 #50 Share Posted May 10, 2009 The Sky should be pulling out of dry dock today. Unfortunately, the web cam has not updated since 6:57 this morning. I keep checking to see if it is out in open water. Can't wait to hear reviews from those who sail tomorrow. Al
