Things you never see on a cruise ship

You never see "door to door" sales people. With all those doors you would think it would be a natural.

This one go's with the door to door salesmen, Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormons on a mission with a packpack and a mountian bike.

Actually, on our last cruise (Liberty, Feb/March 2009) there was a large group of Chocolate People on the ship. They were on as a reward for sales, and they were approaching passengers and crew members to sign them up for additional sales force. Kind of like Mary Kay (and probably many others) you sell your product, recruit someone else to sell, and you get a commission of their sales, and the sales of people they recruit!

Dang...I am wayyyyyyy too bored here at work today !! When I started reading this thread my mind went into overdrive !!.......lol. Let's see......how about.....

* A Yard Sale on the Lido deck

* A No-Alcohol cruise

* Table mates that ANYONE would be overjoyed to dine with

* A clothes line out on deck for everyone to use so that they can get that fresh-sun dried smell in all their clothes

* A cotton candy / popcorn machine.....or maybe a boiled peanut stand

* A pet hotel

hmmmmmmmmmm.............thinking...................thinking...........lol :) :)

Not yet anyway. At the rate the ships are being built, so huge, it won't be long before we see a landing strip on them!

Now thats an idea. No need for a cabin, just stay on your 747.:eek:

Hmmm. Things you'll never see on a cruise ship...

A strip club :D

Almost stole one of my answers... An adult book store. :rolleyes:

Some more answers:

* A ship with only well known chain stores and restaurants

* Free high speed internet access from every cabin in the ship (that is actually high speed for everyone)

* Open bars are in the majority of cruise sailings

* A free intranet based social network for singles on the cruise you are on (free wifi based offering)

* A "red light" level (including permitted public sex in designated areas)

* A configuration of lit votive candles available to order in cabin for a special evening with someone

* All cabins on the ship come with free massage chairs

* A roller coaster

* Official cruise photographers provide any of your pictures for free via e-mail/web

* The name "Titanic" reused for a modern ship

* You're cruise is free if you have the best door decoration

* They dump the towel animals and use real ones

* A dog park

* A club you can join of people whom ensure you don't spend anymore time in your cabin than you have to (anti-cabin hermits anonymous)

* Waterbeds

* Moving walkways

* Getting to enjoy the company of your favorite staff in their off hours (they always seem locked away when they aren't working)

* A passenger driven DJ system

* A play casino where no real money is won or lost and all the standard games are available

* Digital food ordering (in existing places food is ordered verbally)

* A live game with professional sports players (like you'd normally see at a stadium)

* Free in cabin computers and modern console gaming systems

* No hassle cabin moves for reasons of excessive ship noise or unpleasant ship odors

* All cabins equipped with surround sound stereo systems

* Water skiing available at the back of the ship when sailing a minimal speed

* Passenger usable fully stocked kitchen (lets play Iron Chef!)

* Public showers available (so there is less "scheduling of time" for multi-passenger cabins)

* Free makovers for nominated/voted for passengers

* Enough power outlets so you don't need to use a power strip or share outlets amongst your devices (especially those that charge batteries)

I can't believe no one's said it yet!

A Walmart Supercenter

Well I didn't spell it out but...

* A ship with only well known chain stores and restaurants

Wal-Mart, Target, Apple Store, Sega Gameworks, Game Stop/EB Games, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, JC Penny, Sears, Fry's Electronics, various fast food restaurants (McDonalds, KFC, Taco Bell, Burger King, Sonic, Papa John's, Pizza Hut, Long John Silvers, A&W, Krispy Kreme, etc.), Red Lobster, Outback, Joe's Crab Shack... The list goes on and on. I opted to just say "well known chains", as listing one could easily make a whole page list (had to stop myself). :)

I was a little awkward on the wording because I've seen a few chain stores onboard, but nothing important [to me]. :rolleyes:
