New Coupon Books

Just off the Majesty. New "ultimate value booklet" - Diamond and Diamond Plus. Was told would be "rolled out" fleet wide. Free drink coupon and free Johnny Rockets "dining experience" gone. Now get a 2 for one milkshake... buy one get one wine.... and :D $75 bidding credit to be used toward the purchase of any work greater than $1,000. :D Some other changes... nothing that got us excited.

 

I'm sorry, I'm very new to this. How do we get coupon books? We are sailing with Liberty of the Seas on June 13th.

Repeat cruisers get coupon books delivered to their cabin the first day. If this is your first RCI cruise, you don't qualify for the coupons, sorry.

I had bought 2 partially used Platinum books on E-bay about 2 months before my cruise. Since they changed the books in May I was in fear I had "wasted" my money!

 

NOT SO! The 2 JR coupons were honored, as well as the Spin to Win (Whoopee! got 6 cents! :( ) The comp glass of wine, the 10% photo discount and the 10% RCCL logo merchandise were also accepted. I only used the STW and 2 for 1 JR milkshake coupons out of our Gold books. NEVER QUESTIONED ON ANY OF THEM!

 

So my E-bay purchase was actually worth about $18, less the $10 I paid for the books. So for me, it was worth it!

 

For our return cruiser gift DH and I got the big, white tote bags and our DS's got the navy messenger bags. They HAD RUN OUT OF CAPS and using the gift and gear items as return gifts, at least on LOS!

I just got off the AOS, and tried to use the OLD Johnny Rocket coupons and they REFUSED to honor them. I also had many many free drink coupons, NOT any of the bars or lounges would Honor them either.

 

The new coupon books are worthless. So much for being Diamond Plus!!

 

I tried to explain I received the JR coupons in Jan 2009 on my Jewel cruise and the Ship doesn't have a JR, but they could care less!:)

I just got off the Enchantment and I was able to use my old coupons.

I used a bunch of free drink coupons and a free photo coupon. I wanted

to unload these asap. (I was expecting a fight with the photo one

but they didn't say anything.)

In the new booklet I did recieve a free JR which I had heard they

discontinued. There's no JR on the EN but I'll be ticked if they don't

honor it the next time I'm on a ship that has one.

It looks like things vary by ship, which doesn't surprise me.

Just off 6/14 Mariner sailing, new coupon books, would NOT honor old Johnny Rockets coupons. Got nice zipper tote bags as C&A gift. Still had complimentary drinks at C&A party & Platinum/Diamond party. Not much worth using in new coupon books.

Wow it seems to be a waste of paper, I liked the free photo, the free drink, the free wine tasting seminar, it seems like why bother. Thanks for posting.

 

Perhaps we should secede from the Nation of Why Not and become the Nation of Why Bother. :D

 

I was on the Mariner last week and found the new coupon book to be basically useless. I missed the Free Photo, Free Wine Tasting and Free Ben and Jerry's Peace Pop coupons the most.

 

A friend of mine is sailing on Monarch this week and received an old coupon book, with the Free Photo and $12 for $10 Casino coupons CUT OUT. :eek:
