  1. I'd read some of these threads about booking the vatican and Colosseum on your own. Maybe it's me but sounds hard. And to see faster or get into extra levels a extra fee. Not that easy to book on your own. I'd book a tour. ..or that's my plan.
  2. Actually it depends on which site you use. The site that starts with the word hotels ... I can see 14 months out to may 2025. That how I know they are asking $150 for esmeldo hotel or however it's spelled and I'm not within a year. Some hotels show further out some dont. Though I keep hearing only book direct. .. I can bundle air and hotel on another site I'm sure considering. But it's one like you said doesnt show until about 11 months out. Sure a good price.
  3. I would think this is cruiseline specific, not city specific. Carnival says cans only. Rcl says cans or bottles up to 17 oz and same terminal workers screen both. I remember when carnival changed to cans only. I think there were too many trying to smuggle and they just said no more. And also smaller coolers. People were getting crazy 10 years ago or whenever with ideas how to smuggle.
  4. Coins? Equal cabins? Didnt know you ever got those unusual cabins as group rates. Let me know as I love those.
  5. Hibachi is specifically excluded from bogo and as far back as I can remember had a $15 surcharge for any package you buy, 3 days or unlimited. Izumi sushi side no upcharge but yes to hibachi. I had trouble getting wonderland last time on harmony as a bogo and it's not listed as excluded.
  6. One additional comment about dinner in the Mdr. If you choose early and have a assigned table, you cannot then change to anytime dining once in a while. It's one or the other.
  7. I would do the free stuff and see how you like it. Later on it's nice to add some variety to keep it I interesting. The windhammer mentioned above is the buffet which usually opens at 6 pm every night for dinner. A lot of people with mids seem to choose to est here. There is a free pizza place and some sandwiches and stuff elsewhere free. Coco cay I would take the trolley it's free and takes you all over the island. I tried to walk and admit I'm old but its fsr to walk all the way to the back,, maybe it was called south beach. There is also a free pool. 2 free snack shacks which have fresh and hot stuff like chicken sandwich and I love the funnel cake. Somewhere on coco cay is a free buffet. There is a short shuttle down the pier to the meet up area for trolleys. Or can walk down the pier to that area. The pay areas are just specialty areas. Hidewawy is adult only, includes some pizza. Thrill island is rides and beach pay area has lobster and steak etc. Its the most expensive. There will be a lobster night onboard in the Mdr the 2nd dress up night. It's free. In the Windjammer they had dispenses of white and chocolate milk maybe your baby can drink. Used to have cartons but havent seen lately. Juice is only free at breakfast. Take a extra glass of whatever you want later and put it in your refrigerator in your cabin for later. Also included is hot tea and coffee, flavored water, lemonade and cold not sweet iced tea. I dont care for their iced tea. But whatever, I drink the rest of the free stuff. Diapers are not for sale on the ship. You will need to bring your own. If you need a additional trash pail in the bathroom I'd talk to my steward. If you run out of diapers the other 2 ports, or coco cay probably sell them but who knows the cost. Stuff is shipped to islands and sometimes costs more than you pay at home. I've found that at drug stores at grand Cayman, I'd think st Thomas might be similar. Bring what you need. Royal has something like pack n plays they can bring in for your infant to sleep in.
  8. I find it hard to find comfortable chairs in the shade. I also have hr a problem with skin cancer, though I do get some, I dont sit out. Doctor says avoid the sun. Lol impossible.
  9. 45 days out you sign in and get a time to arrive. That's when you put it in.
  10. On 7 day harmony I saw servers were serving drinks to those in hot tubs in the solarium. If they are taking orders and serving drinks in the hot tubs, people will. .. though they werent eating too.
  11. Any packages have to be booked asap when you board. Doesnt matter the length of the package. They will do a placeholder the first night. Usually most change it to whatever they want and book the other nights and try to board as soon as possible.
  12. I bought 2 watches and did pay restaurants all but lobster night.
  13. Such a terrible drive from san antonio to Galveston. It was horrendous. Torrential. From the time I hit I10 until Houston trying to follow headlights at much lower speeds. Seems to have had the worst of it though some arrive 1 or 2 hours late due to road closures in Houston. Mariner which I've never been on before arrived to do a special 7 day leaving tomorrow, then starts 4 and 5 day cruises. Just this one 7 day. I'd say I arrived 2 hours later than google maps suggested it would take. I'm hearing on the news houston might take weeks to recover. My hotel in Galveston was fixing their wifi which was out. Because of the storms. Hopefully clear skies ahead. Cant get worse than today. We can go straight to our cabins. No pax onboard, just crew when it arrived.
  14. Clearly others dont understand one pax cant just get their fare back if they cancel because the TA has to change how its fared and move the 2nd fare to pax 1. If you dont call change a refare, its definition ... I did not say to current or new charges, but now both fares are applied to pax 1. To me refare implies its changed... which it is if someone cancels before the cruise sails. I think it's you confused, not me. To me REfare means redo it again which is true. Arguing semantics. Again I did not say anything other than it is refared. 2nd fare is moved to pax 1. From pax 2. Or they dont get their double pts. RE means do it again. Move the money from pax 2 to pax 1. Semantics. I didnt say extra money or whatever you seem to be reading into the word doing it again.
  15. The one fare goes to the 2nd pax, so hes still paying double. It says refare, not refare to new current rates. The 2nd pax is using both fares now. Read it how you like. Its changed. Look at the reply to ourusualbeach someone says so 2nd fare is issued credit. No. The TA does have to change how the fare is applied.
