We have been on many cruises 9 or 10 total which may not be many comparatively however we were searching for something new. We have been allover the Caribbean Alaska and Hawaii, we have sailed Carnival Princess and Norwegian. We are now trying to explore cruising Europe and are looking to see what Norwegian has to offer that the others may not as far as Itinerary and differences in ships. All the cruises we have taken have been wonderful we love cruising just like to explore the differences in cruise lines. Food Entertainment and destinations as well as the ships themselves

all information would be greatly appreciated

Now would be the time to sail Europe with the Pound and Euro likely to be down for the next few months. If Brexit leads to a Nexit (likely) or a SWexit (less likely) the exchange rate is only going to get better too.

We sailed on the Jade on the itinerary now taken most often by the Epic, from Barcelona > Monte Carlo > Florence > Rome > Amalfi Coast / Pompeii > Majorca > Barcelona. It was our all time favorite cruise.

We walked in Monte Carlo ... up through the gardens named for Princess Grace and then through the residence / palace. In Italy, we hired Rome In Limo for private tours and split the cost 8 ways (I advertised that I was paying for 8 places, but anyone could join us by paying 1/8th and filled up all three mini-vans). It ended up cheaper than the ship's excursions and was a wonderful time in all three ports.

By Majorca, we were dog tired. So we walked over to the cathedral and back to the ship.

That itinerary is a whirlwind with 5 ports in 7 days, and each port had something we had wanted to see our entire lives (except for Majorca). We saw where Princess Grace lived and her gardens (my DW is a fan of hers), the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Florence and Michelangelo's David, then the Coliseum and Vatican (including the Sistine Chapel), and drove the Amalfi Coast, had authentic Italian pizza and visited Pompeii. What a cruise!

We have been through most of the Caribbean Hawaii and just back from Alaska. So this will be for 2018. We sailed Norwegian for the first time in 2014 on the Dawn to Aruba, Grand Cayman and were pleasantly surprised after all the negative reviews I read about Norwegian we thought everything was wonderful. We also have sailed on Carnival and Princess. Norwegian and Princess are more to our liking being in our later 50's. So now we are looking for something new and exciting like Europe. Would in a perfect situation like to fly over and sail back to U.S. But looking at all options

2017 we are sailing Dover to New York (only) via the Lofotens, Tromso and North Cape and then Iceland with Princess. Part of their Round the World itinerary.

I'd like to do an Adriatic cruise and maybe add Greek islands. French Polynesia is on the list too. Also I'd like (not sure about DW) to go "Around the Horn".

Europe is more about the history and culture than the places you have been.

You will love it. Also, Around the Horn or South America is special, as are Australia, and some of the East Asian cruises.

Your post just reminded me of something written, hundreds of years ago:

“From Basrah we sailed, day after day, night after night, over the sea, visiting island after island and land after land, selling or bartering our goods at each.

One day, after some weeks of sailing out of sight of land, we saw an island in the sea with such fair greenery that it appeared like one of the gardens of Eden.

At once the captain made towards this delectable land and, when the anchor had been cast and the ladder lowered, allowed his passengers to disembark.”

The Book of the Thousand Nights and One Night

I hope you, and I, find what we are looking for.:)

We will continue to search itineraries for Europe and try to decide either Mediterranean , or British Isles sound interesting for our first European cruise. Will wait till the 2018 cruise schedule is released for Norwegian
