Actually closing price Oct.26, 2006 was $46.33 vs today's close $46.47.

So not quite right. It would seem that the year prior 2005 they had hit a high.

You can take any given peak and compare it to any other given day and it might not look that impressive but looking at the price over this same 10 yr period you would see that if you had bought the shares at most points you would have likely made money. For instance if you purchased around 7 years ago you would have more than double your money. So even if you had purchased at the previous high in 2005 you would have had the opportunity to buy more shares just 2 years later. Since then the price has steadily climbed. At this time it is struggling mainly because of turmoil in the world.

Of course during this time frame you would have been collecting dividend approaching 3% a year (which is a pretty good return right now). Also, one of the main reasons that a lot of people have purchased these shares is the OBC for every cruise. For my purchase that alone has paid for the shares. Tax free, you can't beat that.

This by no means is a reason to purchase CCL shares. Do your own research.

Let's not confuse things with facts. It's no fun for the mud-slinger and far too much work for the well-informed.;)

Your OBC's may have already paid up for the shares you bought:)

Exactly.

We own stock in multiple family accounts, and have received well over $3,000 in OBC since we've owned it.

Did the calculation before talking with our FA's this last quarter.

That's quite a dividend in addition to what Carnival pays. :)

Some time I'll tell about the 'double dipping' we did on a Breeze cruise, or perhaps I've already posted?

On this mornings news, Carnival had sluggish returns due to people's fear of Zika. They had their slowest growth in several years and were off goal. Not my reporting but FOX News.

Ahhh, my morning ray of sunshine. I posted the link.... while it was the corp, it is across lines, far as I know exceeds expectations is a good thing. I'm just giving what is in the industry news for Carnival cruisers to digest.
