Flowers Onboard

I will be leaving for my very first cruise in about 24 days. I want to order flowers for our room. Do you feel the onboard flowers are a good quality? OR is it a waste of money?

Which cruise line?? I know that flowers aboard HAL are good but I'm not sure about some of the other cruise lines.

Your idea is a very nice one, and since your public profile shows you favoring RCCL, we looked up what Bon Voyage flowers they have to offer. It appears that $60.00 is the least you will spend on a bouquet. Being worth it or not is your personal decision of course. If you haven't done so already, check out their Bon Voyage gift site online and see if anything appeals enough to warrant the expenditure.

I have always had quality flowers bought on board Princess. They last the time we are on board. However, we have also been able to bring our own on board and have the room steward bring us a vase. You can bring on, you just bring off.

You will not be allowed to bring the flowers off the ship, even if it's a round trip cruise.

My husband ordered a single rose for me on my birthday once, he also ordered a bottle of wine/Champaign once too.

Where port will you be sailing from?

There are flower shops in some ports where you can pick up flowers and take them onto the ship. For example -- in Seattle many people stop by Pike's Market and buy flowers there.

You might also find that florists in the town of departure will put together a bouquet and deliver it to the ship prior to sailing.

I have ordered flowers on every RCL cruise we have been on, they last the full week and most of a 14 day TA. Just be aware that the cabin is small and the table is smaller, a small arrangement fits well by the makeup mirror. Go to gifts and gear on the rcl website and check out prices.. happy cruising
