DisneyDatknee Posted April 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2016 (edited) We are booked on the Freedom (8 Day), but we saw that the Navigator was sailing the day before is doing a 9 day cruise. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do? We haven't been to any of these ports. Left is Navigator, Right is Freedom Thank you! Clarea Posted April 29, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2016 I'd take the Southern Caribbean (Navigator) any day. If you enjoy snorkeling, don't miss Bonaire.
JoeRum Posted April 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2016 (edited) I'd pick Freedom. Not sure what it is like going out of Miami. But Fort Lauderdale is the easiest port. Last but not least you are going to St Martin! Love that place and we go on a boat tour with Captain Mike from 7 Marine charter. No matter what both trips would be great! My opinion is Navigator all the way... the ABC islands are fantastic and not many ships go there, especially Bonaire. Seems like every ship in the Caribbean from every cruise line go to the other ports... you will get there someday likely many many times over. Other positives: 1st and foremost, 9 days vs. 8 Navigator has Sabor restaurant (YUM!!!) Miami is a great sailaway, easy to fly into and easy to get to the pier
OHCruisinDad Posted April 29, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2016 It's a coin toss for me. If you like snorkeling take the ABC islands. If you are a beach person, Aruba is great but St Kitts and St Maarten beaches are numerous and offer many options. Either cruise will be great. moopetguy Posted April 29, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2016 I chose the 9-night on board Navigator for November 2017 because it's longer than Freedom's 8-night, and I have already been to PR and SXM (twice for the latter). If you switch from Freedom to Navigator, please come back and post a review after your sailing :)
S.S.Oceanlover Posted April 29, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2016 I'd take the Southern Caribbean (Navigator) any day. If you enjoy snorkeling, don't miss Bonaire. I agree 100%. In fact I'm booked on the Navigator next April with this same itinerary.:) Bill

cruiseapril Posted April 29, 2016 #11 Share Posted April 29, 2016 Another ABC fan here. Aruba has big beaches (Palm and Eagle) and there are many good excursions. We spent the morning touring the island and the afternoon at the beach. Curacao has many cove beaches- some with day passes. Willemstad is a good walking city. Lots to do there. Bonaire is a snorkeling island and also has some good island tours. Have fun planning your cruise.
Merion_Mom Posted April 29, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 29, 2016 Chalk up another vote for the 9 night on the Navigator to the ABCs. The Freedom's ports you can visit on many many different ships and cruises. Let's just call them "common" and "easy to find". ABC islands are much less frequently visited by ships sailing out of Florida.
