cb at sea Posted May 2, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2015 Aft cabins usually have a MUCH deeper balcony..they are very sought after! Enjoy! BTW.."port" simply means "left"...it doesn't mean that's the side facing the dock!!!
bakersdozen12 Posted May 2, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2015 What deck? Just curious.
GUT2407 Posted May 2, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2015 To some it's better to others not as good, also it will depend on where on the Port side it was.
Rare Azulann Posted May 3, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 3, 2015 You have hit the jackpot. The Aft CC1 cabins on the M class ships of Celebrity have huge balconies. Go to the Celebrity forum and ask for pictures of your cabin /balcony. For the Panama canal cruise we also had an aft cabin on Celebrity Century. It was great for morning, evening and any time ,really. When you are doing the canal transit , you will want to be all over the ship to see the various views of the lock passages, the bridges, etc. You will have a cruise of a lifetime going through the Panama Canal. alcpa1 Posted May 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 3, 2015 OMG!!!! Are you the luckiest passenger. As you enter the Canal you may want to join the masses at the front of the ship but there is nothing better than passing through the locks from your aft balcony. We've been on the Infinity through the Canal. And we were in an aft cabin. You will be within a few feet of the sides and will have great views of the mules. Then just look behind you to see the ships and boats lined up to follow your path. Some of the decks are actually below the stations but you can head up to open decks 10, 11, or 12. It's what we cruise the Panama Canal to experience. Have a wonderful cruise. You have been given a true gift.
Lerin Posted May 3, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 3, 2015 Is it aft as in all the way at the back, or aft as in near the back quadrant of the ship? If it's a true aft (all the way back, over the wake) then you got a great deal-enjoy. If it's just a cabin near the back end of the ship, it's pretty much standard-and could be either port or starboard.
