  1. Tried that and my booking isn’t even there anymore. I’m assuming cause boarding is today?
  2. I board today and don’t have a printer, didn’t think I needed to worry about that but the app shows an error for me when I pull the boarding pass. It was fine this past week but of course now nothing is showing. I’m assuming I’ll still be able to board if the app isn’t working for the boarding pass? Hopefully they can pull me up in their system when I get to cruise terminal.
  3. I booked four cruises with the casino offer in the past month. All four cruises the reps said the same thing to me about there being a balance. The rep said they have to fill out a casino form to alert the casino department to pay the balance of the cruise. The first cruise we booked back in Sept for next June... when I called to add the HIA package last week, I was told by a rep that there was still a balance on the cruise and they had to contact the casino department to find out why it hadn't been paid yet (rep said it usually takes five days for them to pay, but I had booked that cruise over a month ago). I guess there is a backlog. So they couldn't add the HIA package because when they added it on in their system the system requires the remainder balance to be paid. Which again, the casino department needs to pay. So we couldn't add the HIA package yet. I asked when I booked the additional three casino offer cruises a few days ago about the possibility that come cruise time, what if the casino still hasn't paid the remainder balance and I was reassured it would be paid before the cruise starts. Maybe take that with a grain of salt but I will be calling back closer to the cruise to verify the balances have been paid. Several of the cruises I booked are in Nov. so I will report back as it gets closer to let you know if there is still an issue.
  4. We didn't have the Zaandam Dec 20th 16 day cruise on our radar until two days ago. Got a casino offer on that cruise that we couldn't pass up. I did call HAL again and was told I could cancel the Jan 4th Eurodam cruise which we ended up doing and should be seeing refund in a couple weeks. We are debating on adding the 16 day Panama Canal on Zaandam as that begins on Jan 5th... But flights to the west coast from the east coast are a pretty penny for when the cruise is over. But then we could add the return Panama Canal cruise on the Zaandam back to FLL. So tempting... Thank you all for your advice.
  5. Hi, I am hoping for some advice on our situation. We have a cruise, fully paid for and was told by a HAL rep it was non-refundable even though we have the CPP thru HAL. Cruise is the Panama Canal on Eurodam leaving Jan 4 2023 for 11 days round trip out of FLL. We wanted to book the 16 day Zaandam Southern Caribbean Holiday cruise round trip out of FLL, leaving Dec 20 but it doesn't end until Jan 5th 2023. We would either need to cancel the Panama Canal Eurodam cruise starting Jan 4th 2023 or disembark the Zaandam cruise on Jan 3rd when we make a stop in Nassau and fly to FLL in preparation for the Jan 4th Eurodam cruise... We really don't want to disembark early on the Zaandam cruise but if we can't cancel the Eurodam cruise then I guess that's our only option. We have never had to cancel a cruise before so if HAL is telling us when we booked the cruise (which was after the final payment date - we tend to book cruises last minute) that it's non-refundable, but we paid for the CPP thru HAL, I guess we are getting confused if we'd get 90% back and how that process works. Do you file a claim thru the CPP from HAL, and how quickly do you get the 90% back? We upgraded to the HIA package, would we get that refunded as well? We paid for the cruise with credit cards and gift cards (I still have the original gift cards), so unsure how that all works. Any suggestions or prior experience would be helpful. Thanks
  6. I used several gift cards at the end of our cruise in early September to pay our on board balance and since I wanted to make sure I paid it off and then some (in case I charged something before we disembarked or something hadn't shown up yet) I put more than what was owed. The credit we then had was refunded to our credit card after the cruise ended.
  7. I pulled up the site in Chrome and typed in everything rather than letting Chrome prefill it, and had no issues. Ordered $2k. Within a few minutes I received the gift card and the bonus card separately.
  8. I don't smoke but my husband does. Do I wish he wouldn't? Of course but each person makes their own choices. As RuthC stated the smoking area is very small. The ships are huge in comparison. Although I don't smoke I am often with my husband in the smokers area chatting away with other wonderful people who just happen to be smoking. If the smell bothers me, then I kindly excuse myself and leave. That is my choice. There are many places I can go on the ship where I won't smell smoke. That's great you found a way to move on from smoking, but each person is different and their way may not be your way. Regardless, some of the most amazing people I've met on Holland America has been in the small smoking area on the Lido deck, smell and all. 🙂
  9. Does anyone have the list of cruises the free interior offer cabin offer is for (good till 10/15)?
  10. Would someone be kind enough to explain the OBC part when purchasing stock? If I purchase 100 shares today and have several cruises scheduled for Nov 2022, Jan 23, June 23, August 23 etc. How does that work? Thanks
  11. We appeared to be dropped from the casino email list several months ago but it had been about three years since we had played in the casino... We went on a cruise beginning of this month and played every night. Me, slots, Hubby, Craps. Also played bingo at the highest level offered. At the end of the cruise I received an offer for a free oceanview cruise and hubby had an offer for $150 in free play for next cruise booking. I know I spent way more in slots then he did playing Craps. I lost more than I won, but still had a great time. We booked the free cruise a week ago for mid-2023. But still haven't received any emails from the casino for additional offers. He and I cruise again in Nov and we will play every night in the casino again. So we will see if we ever get back on the casino email list. Fingers crossed.
  12. Interesting. When we were on the NS earlier this month we saw a ton of trays outside of rooms on our floor (5th) and we wondered what that was about and why they couldn't leave the trays in their rooms for when the stewards cleaned. Now it makes sense if those were quarantine rooms littered throughout the floor.
  13. Was on the nieuw statendam a few weeks ago in an interior room and there was a wall dispenser for lotion in the bathroom. Koningsdam in august also had one in bathroom.
  14. Was on a cruise first week of August on the Koningsdam and you are correct one side was ice cream and other was Breads and the breads included the Bread Pudding. Also was on the Nieuw Statendam from 9/7/22-9/17/22 and it was being served in the same manner. It was very good.
  15. Thanks for the info. We have another cruise scheduled for the Rotterdam and I called today as we had an ocean view guarantee and I wanted to see what it would cost to get a midship room. The rep said 99% of the ocean view rooms are on main deck 1. Only a few were available so I went with 1119 which appears to maybe be under the shops. They had some more on the port side but would have been under the clubs or possible kitchen. So, hoping we made a good choice with 1119. Not sure if it's bigger than a standard interior room or not. As we were previously on the NS in a standard interior and that was pretty small but still worked for hubby and I.
  16. Any recommendations for a good midship large interior room on Eurodam? I believe it’s a J category that I booked. Just hubby and I for an 11 day Panama Canal cruise in Jan. Thanks for any advice.
  17. Started cruising Holland America at 31 and now I am 41 and a 3*. But have a cruise in Nov 2022 that will be enough to put me at a 4*. Very excited for free laundry.
  18. We are thinking about 3339 on Zaandam and concerned about noise from above. Anyone have any input? I saw some posts of people staying in 3339 and saw pics on halfacts but wasn't sure about any noise issues from above. Appreciate any info. Thanks
  19. We were surprised as well because he spoke loud enough for the guests eating dinner near the host stand to turn towards us and stare. We offered to go change but he already had his back to us and was speaking with a server and then we were taken to our table. We now know so we are educated for next time.
  20. Thank you SO much for adding this info. Hubby and I have been looking and there are slim pickings for Mexico cruises... I will call and see what they say. Thanks again!!!
  21. Thanks!!! We did not. We ordered them at the bar and stocked the mini fridge over the course of a few days.
  22. I had called HAL to find out what it would cost to add the signature beverage package on its own for us and it was going to cost more than the $700 for HIA. Add on the free specialty restaurants and the Wi-Fi and shore excursions then it was worth it for us. Even if all that other stuff wasn't included it was still cheaper to get HIA then purchase the drink package separately. We got most use out of the drink package. Now if the pre-paid gratuities were part of that then it would have been an even better deal but that wasn't included. We had some OBC that covered that piece. Really depends on what you think is worth it to you or not. In regards to Club Orange, probably the best part of that is the upgrade in room category but we didn't get an upgrade. We picked 5071 when we booked the cruise before we added Club Orange later on. I am assuming that was the highest level room for interior so that benefit didn't apply sadly. Now, if we had gotten a guarantee interior then we would have seen the benefit. If we ever decide to add Club Orange again we would do a guarantee and then upgrade to the highest room level in the same category.
  23. This was the first time doing Club Orange and being in that dining area. We've been cruising with HAL for ten years but we have never eaten in the regular dining room so we would have probably made the same error with him in shorts if we had eaten there as well. Majority of the time we eat in the Lido and do a specialty restaurant here and there and he always dressed up for that piece. We were uneducated on the Club Orange dining area dress code and that was our fault. But now we know.
  24. Oh gosh I'm sorry your cruise was not a good experience. I hope you feel better.
  25. Good to know for next time. He didn't bring any this time, but we will remember that. Appreciate the tip.
