DD & 6 friends were lucky enough to secure highly sought after tickets for the Sydney Swans vs Collingwood Preliminary AFL Final at the SCG last weekend. Unfortunately, they were seated right in the middle of the Collingwood fan section but were absolutely delighted when the Swans won by a nail biting one point. The AFL Grand Final is on in Melbourne today. Impossible to get tickets and flight prices are ridiculous so they are barracking for their favourite team from afar. Came across two swans yesterday whilst walking in Canberra. The Captain Cook memorial jet fountain is in the background.

Public transport in ports of call

Currently in Canberra. Day pass is $9.60 and I missed the bus. Ended up using light rail, Uber, my feet, free Floriade shuttle & Light Rail 🤪 -
Geez - lots of hospital visits followed those videos… My brother was telling me his FIL has been banned by his family from using the chainsaw. He managed to nick his leg with chainsaw. He hid his sliced & bloody pants in the bottom of the washing hamper. Didn’t say anything to anyone and then later after dinner, calmly said to his wife, I think you better drive me to the hospital

Today I was the “patient” for an hour during my daughter’s four hour zoom first aid course. 6 participants, one of whom had her young child as her patient and he was very vocal with his “pain” much to his mum’s embarrassment but he followed his mum’s instructions well. Zoom course was excellent. DH & I did a physical course just before my daughter was born. Long overdue for another, since it is recommended you do one every three years. Afterwards, we went out for brunch.

Booking Cruise with Carnival Cruises
aussielozzie18 replied to TwoWestAussies's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
I recently booked online direct with Carnival for Luminosa. Two separate bookings and both times I could select the cabins I wanted. No issues. -
Thanks for the compliment Sue but the reason we do the walks is because of the books we have bought. Last summer I bought the latest edition of this one and we proceeded to do most of them. Then at the end of summer, DH bought this one for the relatively new Bondi to Manly walk - basically a combination of all the coastal walks we had done in segments to date.

The rest of the walk was glorious with stunning harbour and Northern Beaches views and the water at both Shelley Beach and Manly looked very inviting. The Corso had lots of markets today and it was just gorgeous in Manly itself as it had been all day. DH then informed me had parked up beyond the steepest hill in the next suburb and a few residential streets beyond. So after 10km, we had another hike…Going to work tomorrow to relax (I wish). Historic cemetery at North Head with stunning Sydney Harbour views. Memorial pathway remembering those lost to war. Beautiful memorials in sandstone are beyond this path. Views of the Northern Beaches coastline Beautiful Shelley Beach. Swim, Snorkel or Scuba. A scenic walk from the main Manly Beach.

I love walking through the bush land at North Head, parts of it have steel pathways completely surrounded by low lying heath. Today, it was absolutely filled with wildflowers so it was lovely and because of the wildflowers lots of birds too. We had a lengthy section of the walk to ourselves. DH was a bit behind me when I saw something move. I had been saying to DH that I love the raised pathways because you are unlikely to tread on a snake. The movement was not a snake but a cute echidna. I was delighted and when we told the park staff later they were even more delighted and asked us to submit a photo (side on is best so park staff can identify them by their coloured spines and length of their beak). We watched the Echidna for a while and he checked us out curiously then we continued our walk.
