  1. I was at the kiosk at Palm Beach Golf Club at lunchtime. The two guys in front of me were paying for their rounds and asked the staff member, anywhere we can watch the footy after this?. Then I was on the Manly ferry at sunset, standing at the back taking in the magic views and a guy passes me watching the footy on his mobile…
  2. @jagsfan so glad that lovely lady helped you through that stressful proctored test experience. I could feel the stress just reading about the issues you had. I am so thankful that my upcoming cruise only needs a self administered RATS test.
  3. It’s a beautiful evening in Sydney. Many Sydneysiders like ourselves have caught the ferry across the harbour to view the Opera House Sails this evening and more still are at the Overseas Passenger Terminal (no cruise ship in tonight) taking photos & videos. We are currently sitting outside sipping champagne and people watching with the Opera House in view.
  4. Was hoping I would see a Waratah in the bush. They are our State Emblem and flowering right now. The Park Rangers are now spray painting their stems blue, to stop them from being taken out of the bush so it was probably better that I was able to see two in their native garden without the paint. The visitors centre runs kids activities, this little guy a bearded dragon, born in captivity, is popular with the kids. They also have a sculpture trail on at the moment, this one was my favourite resembling banksia seed pods.
  5. I am sorry your daughter tested positive and the kids will soon lose their much loved Lucy. The kids are clearly surrounded by a lot of love and support so hopefully that helps them deal with this difficult road you are on.
  6. Got a text msg on Thursday from the specialist confirming my appointment for next week. As it’s booked a year ahead, I had understandably completely forgotten about it. Did not want to have to reschedule so it sent me into a minor panic. Very lucky that the GP could see me that afternoon to get a referral, the private hospital could give me a next day appointment for the scans and my very understanding boss permitted me to have time off at very short notice. So off to hospital yesterday. Took photo of car in multi-story carpark so I could find it later, watched a lovely video of somewhere in Europe during a short wait, had wonderful staff attend me during the various scans and finished off with a superb lunch of a salmon bruschetta with a large coffee in the very nice onsite cafe. In the afternoon, we drove over to dads, sat in the sun and chatted on dad’s deck then wandered up to dad’s veggie patch and DD collected some delicious snow peas. Now, it’s early Saturday morning here. Overcast but sun is expected to come out. DH has left already for his 40km Walk Bondi to Kirribilli. I have plans to do a bushwalk hoping to see more Spring Wildflowers. Hope you all have a lovely evening and day tomorrow.
  7. Dad sent me this photo recently Taken by his friend near his property in Northern NSW. After all the sad bushfire photos, it’s wonderful to see such a big healthy koala in the bush.
  8. Love the Dolphin one. When we were kids, my brother and I had wall murals in our bedrooms. Mine was a North American autumn setting. My brother had palm trees on a tropical island. Mine is long gone but my brother’s has stood the test of time. I think instead of his childhood desk, a home bar would look good in front of it (sorry for the wonky photo angle).
  9. Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing. My DD spent a wonderful week in Iceland. They were there in Feb though, it was cold & wet, certainly didn’t see the beautiful green in your other photo although waking up to heavy snow that had fallen overnight was pretty magical for two Aussie girls.
  10. Thinking of you and your daughter as you go down this very tough path. Sorry to hear things have gotten more difficult. I hope this group is a source of online support for you during this time.
  11. Gosh you are having a rough time of it. That elevator situation sounds truly awful. Hope you recover from Covid soon. I can’t keep up with everyone’s cruises, when did you disembark?
  12. “I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service” The Queen on her 21st Birthday. I have always greatly admired our Queen. My daughter’s middle name is Elizabeth. A new King and a new British Prime Minister. Britain now enters 10 days of official mourning. Condolences to Graham, Pauline, Sue & Gary.
  13. I read recently that Rydges has been sold to the Crystalbrook Group for $100million.
