If you don't prepay before the cruise, they are automatically billed to your on board account daily. Of course you are free to tip additional amounts in person, if you wish to do so.

The thread drift has become ludicrous. The OP is an American (who I'm guessing hasn't been to the UK before) with only 2 days to spend before returning home. Wanting to get a taste of London is a reasonable and logical ask IMO. And while I am sure there are reasons why some Brits have a sour view of London, it still ranks, among tourists, as one of the great cities of the world. We will spend a few weeks in Scotland and Yorkshire this year. But I've made it a point to end the trip with a week in London.

Eurowings Discover is changing its name to just Discover. It's the leisure travel branch of Lufthansa. If you go to the Discover website, under Information, you can find info on the airports they serve: https://www.discover-airlines.com/en/information/airport-and-terminal-information/

There has been a saying since the 1800s to the effect that you shouldn't believe everything you read. Originally referring to newspapers, it equally applies to just about any form of communication, whether print, online, or video. Cruise info is no diffrent, nor has it ever been. TLDR: this is nothing new.

You need to get advance authorization from the cruise line. They need to arrange Immigration and Customs (if necessary) as well as updating their manifest. A nominal charge may be required as well. No refund would be given for the days not spent on board.

Have a look at booking.com for accommodations. Use their filters to adjust for price, amenities and location. Use their map function and select a hotel very close to an underground station and bus line. Anywhere inside the Circle Underground line will work well. Use the tfl (transport for London) website to plan your city transportation. For bus and underground, use an Oyster card or tap and go credit card. Forget dinner at Simpsons on the Strand- they've been closed for years, with no reopening date.

But ordering the water package would make no sense for the OP, since they already have the premium beverage. package. All they need to do is collectable bottle or 2 when they pass by a bar and store them in their cabin fridge OP, if you do this, have your cabin attendant remove the minibar contents first.

Given the number of passengers on most mass market cruise ships, and the amount of ice needed per day, can you visualized a couple of container car loads of bagged ice being loaded onto the ship at every port? And then finding freezer space for all that? Um, no.

Letting kids in the Solarium for a couple of hours-Opinions?
mom says replied to cruisekitty22's topic in Celebrity Cruises
How about curmudgeon or termagant, depending on gender? Why do iget the feeling that you are the angry neighbour' who stands on the porch yelling at everyone to get off your lawn? -
Letting kids in the Solarium for a couple of hours-Opinions?
mom says replied to cruisekitty22's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Per the Celebrity website: *Solarium kid’s hours available from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on select itineraries – Antarctica, Alaska, and the Baltics. So, this affects only 3 out of all of Celebrity's itineraries, for 2 hours a day. If you are such a misopaedist that you can't cope with this, then I'd recommend choosing a different cruise line to cruise those places. -
Letting kids in the Solarium for a couple of hours-Opinions?

But if the rules state that there ARE family hours, then they aren't breaking any rules, are they? 2 hours a day, when most adults are preparing for dinner, is not too much to ask, IMO.- 237 replies

Not sure how anyone could tell you whether or not you would NEED a wifi package. I'm assuming you booked a cruise only fare and not the all included fare. Do you think you would need or want to use wifi while on board the ship? Then you need to get the package. I don't believe Celebrity sells wifi by the minute or day any longer, but I could be wrong. As noted above, if your needs are minor, you may be able to get by with free wifi in your ports at restaurants and bars.

It could be that they are observing the 12 days of Christmas, with Jan 6th (Epiphany) being the 12th day.

First Timer - Seasickness/Anxiety Advice
mom says replied to Arlene89's topic in First Time Cruisers
My suggestion is to speak with your family doctor or practitioner. They may be able to suggest the appropriate preventatives for you, and suggest ways to manage your panic attacks. There's no point in getting on a ship if you are going to be terrified the whole time. The point of cruising is to enjoy yourself, not just to survive it. And having an entire forum tell you that cruising is safe won't prevent panic attacks, by their very nature. Only medical help will do that. Large cruise ships are not subject to motion in the same ways that small boats and ferries are. Nevertheless, if the conditions are right, even the largest cruise ships with the most advanced stabilization can have some motion which may be sufficient to trigger your motion sickness. -
Of course.
-
Of course not. However the ship needs to be aware of this in advance to have the correct passenger manifest, and to ensure that Customs and Immigration is in position to clear them on arrival. Your case was different, and would not have involved Passport Control when you left the ship (Schengen protocols)

Vacation package offer….too good to be true?
mom says replied to jennmaybe's topic in Princess Cruises
That is per person or total for everyone in your party? Princess does have cruise+ land packages, so it's legit. Whether it's a better deal than booking each portion separately.... you need to very carefully read exactly what the details say, assuming nothing. -
Taxi or Uber. The airport is close by. The cruise shuttle is both more expensive, and slower, since you have to wait for everyone to board before it will leave.

Chinese Passport required VISA to cruise?
mom says replied to Andy P.'s topic in First Time Cruisers
Stop and think past your own selfish wants. There are hundreds of countries in this world, and cruisers come from most of them. Each country has their own specific requirements for travel to other countries. And those requirements can, and do, change on a dime, with little or no warning. These requirements come from the federal governments of individual countries, and the cruise lines have absolutely no say in them. Nor are the cruise lines a sufficiently important entity to hold sway over entire governments. The entire issue is too large and complex for "one or 2 employees" to track this volume of information. Millions of people cruise each year. Thoroughly read the websites of any cruise line, and their T&Cs, and you will find language to the effect that it is up to the cruiser to determine and obtain all of the necessary travel documents. That requirement is not hidden. And should be self evident, although expecting a degree of personal responsibility may be asking too much from some people. However that information is readily available for most cruisers by going to the website specific to their passport ( for example travel.state.gov if you hold a US passport). -
Besides the idea of just drinking in moderation and not getting stupid drunk in the first place, try drinking an 8 oz glass of water after any alcoholic drink. And if you do wake up with a hangover, eat a big, high fat breakfast along with a large quantity of non alcoholic fluids.

So confused Norway 14th Feb
mom says replied to lovetocruise1953's topic in Northern Europe & Baltic Sea
Did you have a question, or did you just want to vent? In future, if traveling to somewhere new, it's an excellent idea took up the historical weather averages for those places well in advance. Google abounds with such websites. Then, a week or so before beginning the trip, check the forecast to refine your expectations. -
Final payment. Just about says it all. You could try for an upgrade if a higher level suite now falls within the amount you paid. (And one is still available)
