  1. A rather damp and dismal morning here, just hope the rain doesn't reach London until later today.
  2. If you have a smart phone check the pull down settings feature, you should find the Wi-Fi calling icon on page 2, you just need to activate it and you might need to twin it to your Wi-Fi router, although I believe mine did it automatically.
  3. I don't like the idea of paying to see the sort of acts they are currently booking,, especially when there are more suitable acts, for me, on for free in the theatre and other lounges. But I have no objection to these lounges, and I know that other passengers do seem to enjoy them.
  4. We had our flu jabs yesterday, I did feel something as the vaccine went in, so thought it would be sore, however hardly any side effects at all, apart from some slight discomfort.
  5. Iona only has one formal night per week, so two over a 14 night cruise.
  6. I kept one for three weeks just to see if that was true, it still read negative when I threw it in the bin.
  7. That was what I thought as well, so the OP needs to know that he/she will need to have a copy of their NHS covid pass, either in printed form or a download on their mobile device.
  8. I was just reading elseewhere from someone claiming they had their 2nd jab more than 270 days ago, but are not entitled to a booster as they are under 65. I thought that the NHS sent you a booster invitation once you were nearing 270 days since your 2nd jab?
  9. We have just received an e-mail giving us £150 OBC for our Feb cruise on Iona.
  10. Surely you don't expect P&Os IT system to be able to identify when a booking is fully paid!!!😉
  11. I assume that final payment is imminent on all these upcoming cruises, so that explains P&O's largess; they don't want you cancelling and wrecking their cash flow.
  12. Afternoon sun sailing to the Canaries in the winter months does not reach the starboard balconies until late afternoon. It's much better to have a port side balcony which gets the sun until about 2;00pm going south, and then more of the afternoon sun sailing back, as by then you sre mainly sailing due north.
  13. This is one of the major problems with people receiving free food, or free anything, in time they begin to consider it a right, and no longer feel any gratitude to the organisation or its volunteers. I recognise that it is needed, but it should be a last resort after people have made as many economies as they are able. Cigarettes, alcohol, mobile phone contracts and subscription TV are just a few of the things that should be abandoned, before people need to visit a food bank.
  14. I still have the My Holiday icon on my phone which is linked to my Chrome browser, so I assume that will enable me to get started again once we are on board and able to link to the ships wi fi.
  15. I thought it clearly explained why most cruise lines do not want passengers playing with the room TV.
  16. Although I have not had the drink package on P&O, I have always had tonic in a small can, but not fever tree unless you pay extra.
  17. The tidy up also included collecting any room service crockery etc, replenishing tea and coffee items and any used beakers or drinks glasses, and freshening up the bathroom after you had showered. Turn down was just a term used because the steward would also remove any day time bedding and cushions and leave the bed ready for immediate use.
  18. No they say you can have 28kgs in PE, but presumably only if each case is no heavier than 23kgs. In fact, although I have not flown for over 12 years, I thought the same 23kg case weight restriction already applied for any flight back in 2010.
  19. I presume if you order a latte you get the normal large glass cup?
  20. You have to consider Wowzz, that a lot of the onboard staff are tiny Filipinos who do struggle with medium sized cases of only 17-20kgs.
  21. The "app", which is actually only a webpage on the ships intranet, can only be used on board. However you can pre book some things by logging onto the My cruise page from their website.
  22. We booked our 3rd boosters for later this month, had already booked our flu jabs for this weekend, so thought we should maybe leave at least a week between them, just in case of any reaction.
  23. Just saying that if you did put 28kgs in one case this may be rejected by P&O when you reach the ship.
