  1. I know its along time ago but I don't believe Geoge vi or Edward viii wore a crown, although the stamps did have a crown on them.
  2. Living in West Yorkshire we prefer to have our fried potatoes as chips, which is why I wrongly assumed that Hull pattieslappers, working in a fish factory, would put fish into their patties, athough I have begun to enjoy P&O hash browns now that the golden triangles are no longer available. However thinking of potato delicacies my Mum used to make delicious onion fritters, which were onion rings between 2 slices of potato, dipped in batter and deep fried, now those were something to get excited about.
  3. The large glasses are sometimes cheaper than buying a bottle, so it probably won't cost you any more. I suspect P&O prefer selling wine by the glass, which is probably why the pricing is so keen.
  4. DID you not read Moleys post, capacity is measured against lower berths so any 3 or 4 berth cabins that are full will push the number of passengers beyond 100% capacity.
  5. They call them Fish Cakes in the civilised west of the county, aren't patties the name the Yanks give to burgers?
  6. My comment was specifcally related to being able to book an accessible cabin on a saver fare, which on Iona or Arvia with only freedom dining, would certainly be worthwhile.
  7. I know the term slapper, but that does not really fully fit with your meaning.
  8. We have noticed that crew normally dine quite late in any speciality restaurant, and are often arriving as we are about to leave, generally after 9:00pm, which is a lot later than most passengers want to dine.
  9. I hear what you say, however on the 3 mid size ships 2 of the 3 MDRs are freedom. In which case if P&O agreed with you, then surely they would be allocating one of those 2 to 6:30 club dining, and then reverting to freedom.
  10. I thought elite gave you a mini bar set up, and free laundry, as well as some free wi fi?
  11. Crikey David you're asking for NASA standard computing, P&Os IT has difficulting keeping track of static data, and your asking it to compute variable arrival times for every single sailing!
  12. If P&O would spread out boarding, as other cruise lines do, by starting at 10:30, then that would help to reduce the pressure on the terminal capacity.
  13. But which way is the glitch?
  14. I think that probably your earlier P&O cruises do still count if you have never sailed with them before. But not any cruises done after the cut off point.
  15. What you fail to comprehend is that over the years cruise lines learnt how many passengers prefer club dining and how many freedom dining, and they set their dining rooms up to offer that split. Hopefully the cruise lines got it right more often than not. But of course any average does have seasons which dont follow the normal trend, and over time it has seemed that an increasing percentage of passengers have shown a preference for freedom dining, which presumably is why P&O have opted for all freedom dining MDRs on Iona and Arvia. But you are correct that this does benefit saver fare passengers, and unless the extra OBC for select fares is high enough, some usual select fare passengers will undoubtedly decide to try a saver fare, until they end up in an unsatisfactory cabin. I suspect that Aurora and Arcadia will totally drop the app system fairly soon, and maybe Ventura as well. But the demographic on Azura for fly cruises, and the tight MDR dining capacity on Britannia, will probably mean they will try to tighten up on the app usage.
  16. You probably will find that the AC will be working harder to maintain comfortable temps, and that will mean that some venues, eg the theatre, might feel quite cool, but overall the temp should feel similar to what you experienced on Iona.
  17. If you know where those posts are please let us know, I am also following this thread and I have not seen anyone refer to club dining as spontaneous.
  18. Do you not understand the meaning of spontaneity, all the above require you to take early action, sometimes very early. For many people a holiday is a time to relax, go with the flow, and only decide what to do next when the spirit moves you. For you it seems you need a spread sheet and constant access to your phone, in order to do all the things you want to pack into your tightly managed schedule.
  19. So you sit in the 710 club keeping an eye on your phone all the time, if I were one of the musicians I would be asking you to leave for being so rude.
  20. Read your last sentence again, unless your name is H G Wells or Doctor Who, you would not know how long the queue was, until you tried to join it.
