  1. Captains club is the name of the loyalty scheme on Celebrity.
  2. While on a Celebrity cruise just after lockdown, we were in a bar when security entered and spoke to a gentleman and walked away with him. On enquiring what was happening we were told that it was likely a Covid test he had submitted onboard had proved positive and he had been found via face recognition. Have no doubts that even without a medallion you can easily be found by the staff if needed.
  3. There is a lot more that can be found on an app. Menus, up to date account information. Maps. You can even sometimes bookmark activities and get reminders - always useful when you are in a quiet corner and get lost in a book. I can well understand that some people are happy to go with the flow with the traditional methods. You can still do that if there is an app. Choice is king.
  4. I am only able to cruise once a year. The time onboard is valuable to me and I always want to make the most of every minute. Any way to access information to help me plan my time is very welcome. I have found an app to be very useful on another line.
  5. Got my 5 points in my points total. Takes it to 302, but still showing as Select although that should be Elite. I guess it will show the correct tier eventually.
  6. Found this through Google. Prices at last September - for some reason I couldn’t post a link. If you google ‘Paul and Carole love to travel laundry’ there is a lot more information.
  7. At last themes are now available for Queen Anne, 14 nights, May 10th to the Canaries. 3 gala nights May 11th Black and White May 16th Masquerade May 21st Roaring 20s. Hopefully other Queen Anne itineraries will be showing themes soon.
  8. Not sure when this date was released, but I already had it noted in my calendar that the naming date was to be April 19th.
  9. Thank you for this - particularly the menus and food pictures. We are due on Queen Anne next year - our first Cunard experience. A lot of the posts seem to be about grills meals so it’s good to see details of Britannia meals.
  10. Had to smile when I saw the pictures of the Prince of Wales family photo on their Christmas card. I spied ……….jeans! Hope they aren’t planning to eat in dining rooms on Cunard! 🤣😉
  11. If you scroll to the bottom of the events page there is a contact us link where you can ask about future events.
  12. If you have enjoyed GBBO try looking for past series of The Great Pottery throwdown - originally on channel 4. I believe a new series is due in the New Year. Emotional Keith is my favourite judge of all time. Also worth a watch is Handmade - Britains Best Woodworker on BBC iPlayer.
  13. Just finished reading this. Tried watching the Netflix series but gave up after 30 minutes. Don’t expect everything to be the same in 4 hours filmed as in a 500 page book, but too much of the story had been changed for me. I’m content to remember the story as told so beautifully in the book.
  14. We are taking our first Cunard voyage in May 2024. I was surprised that on the end of the latest Cunard email my world club number is stated.
  15. You may also be interested in the wine collections. https://www.cunard.com/content/dam/cunard/marketing-assets/pdf/life-on-board/drinks-packages/wine-collections-brochure.pdf
  16. This is a link from last year. https://www.cunard.com/content/dam/cunard/my-voyage/pdfs/qm/qm_commodore_club_menu_aug_2022a.pdf edit And another https://www.cunard.com/content/dam/cunard/my-voyage/pdfs/qm/qm_wine_list_aug_2022a.pdf
  17. Our new phones have the new C usb, it’s easy enough to get a small adapter to fit the C into the A.
  18. It seems Cunard also refer to passengers as Cunarders. On their social media page they announce a Cunarder of the week - the passenger who has taken the best Cunard photograph.
  19. I’m in the UK. As you have said- In My Cunard there is a link in the booking summary section to pay your balance online (for bookings made directly with Cunard). Most annoying that the link doesn’t work in Oz.
  20. Thanks to @ronpes and @techteach for the recommendations. I usually prefer to read a book before seeing a film so the book is now winging its way from Amazon. It’s also in my Netflix wish list. Love a recommendation - there’s nothing worse than spending time to read a few chapters before discovering it’s not worth continuing.
  21. Have to agree about All Creatures Great and Small. A delightful series, such a change from the numerous dramas that abound that are full of violence, aggression and upsets. Having said that the recent series of Time has been excellent - thought provoking, well acted, and a revelation.
  22. Still no info from Cunard about Queen Anne themes.
  23. What is a postman? They are an endangered species here. Lucky if they venture out once a week, and are then loaded down with the backed up post!
  24. Just picked up a couple of masquerade masks at our local garden centre Christmas display.
  25. Yes this is our dilemma at the moment. Our first cruise is on Anne on May 10th. We are torn whether to book now or wait until we get onboard to get the benefits of doing it that way. The danger is that if we wait that prices may have gone up. At the moment we are trying to nail down the type of room we will go for and narrow down which cruises we may be interested in and monitor prices.
